    Forgot to get my OG

    I made 1 gallon and used 3 pounds of honey. I used an OG calculator and it said 1.033. That seems a bit low. This is my first batch of mead, I usually make beer. Can anyone help me estimate my OG?

    Looong fermentation.

    How long is too long in plastic?

    I have an ale pail for my primary fermenter. What is the longest I can ferment in there without the risk of O2 seeping through? I plan on just getting a 6.5 gal glass Carboy in the future, but it is t in the budget right now. P.S. if anyone on Long Island wants to donate a Carboy to my cause...
