    Clear beer!

That is an awesome glass ;) Here's my contribution. Pretty stoked about this one. Who ever said you need a keg system for clear beer? This was bottle conditioned :) Pliny the Elder clone.

Help with recipe - strawberry cream ale for SWMBO

Whelp, went ahead with the Hella Vanilla Cream Ale recipe, plus an extra half pound of caramel 40 and 6oz of lactose. Finished fermenting at 1.014, so still a bit sweet. I think that's perfect though, because I added 6 pounds of strawberries that will likely thin it out a bit. Going for a...

    lets see your full Fermenters

Never had 2 in primary at once before! Pliny the Elder clone on the left, and Hella Vanilla Cream ale on the right (with some slight modifications for extra body, and will add strawberries in secondary). Gonna be a great end of summer methinks.

    how to photograph beer

Sure, but I guess I was suggesting the general lighting techniques could be used to make our beer photos better - more lighting by a window, maybe a flashlight or a lamp for spot or "interior" bottle lighting, etc. Just food for thought. Sorry, this probably applies to 2% of the people here...

    how to photograph beer

Found this link today and thought it was interesting. A lot of techniques mentioned here are typical for product and/or food photography, but you dont need to spend a fortune on equipment to get similar effects at home. Just thought someone might find this interesting/helpful...

Help with recipe - strawberry cream ale for SWMBO

I've got a gift card to Northern Brewer, and the wife wants a strawberry ale featuring fresh Michigan strawberries. I've made a banana beer before and while half my bottles exploded, it was a lot of fun. Figured I could do one fruit ale per year, that's ok with me. Anyway, I'm thinking...

    and now for something different

You could fill it with BMC Lite and actually be correct in calling it a "ricer."

    Worst Movies?

I might catch some flak for this, but I hated Das Boot. 6 hours of old, boring movie only to have such an awful ending! I was going to say it but I couldn't get the spoiler tags to work and didn't want to ruin it for anyone who might actually want to endure this masterpiece... I was so mad...

I need some organization! Show me yours

My wife and I have a really small place... us, the kid, and a dog, in about 900sf. We downsized from our last place, so it's busting at the seams with stuff. Because of that, I have very little space to store my brew stuff, and when I do brew, I cart it all outside for the day. I stack all my...

Bread ingredients - corn starch and amylase? Shouldn't it say "sugar"?

True, looks like they're under the same section.

    Clear beer!

My clearest one yet! Something I've been striving for for the last 12 batches or so. Sadly, this one was not supposed to be clear :( Oh well, still beer! :cross:

Bread ingredients - corn starch and amylase? Shouldn't it say "sugar"?

So SWMBO and I were walking through Costco for our monthly stock pile this weekend, and I came across this bread that looked interesting. We're both on a "clean eating" diet for the next few months so we're paying close attention to the ingredients on things. This bread was definitely...

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

Ok, so I just cracked open my first one. It's still pretty young, but overall it's very similar to Pumking. Sure, not an exact clone, but close enough for me. Really all I was going for was a delicious pumpkin spice beer, and this recipe doesn't disappoint. Really happy with this batch...
