Temp probe in an SS Brewtech Chronical

Is the thermowell used for the FTSs sensor the same as that used for the little digital thermomenter? (not the sensor itself, the thermowell is what I'm asking about).

Temp probe in an SS Brewtech Chronical

Why not inside? Wouldn't that give. More accurate reading?

Temp probe in an SS Brewtech Chronical

I'm planning on getting an SS Brewtech Chronical (probably 7 gallons) Brewmaster edition, and using a non-FTSS temp controller to control temps. For anyone who's done this, how did you install the temp probe in the fermenter? Using their thermowell and dumping the digital thermometer...

    FTSs Brewtech Glycol Chiller

For those recommending an Inkbird controller to control a fridge-based chiller, which model do you use? The ITC-308? Something else?

Kegging for use with a Jockey Box

Newbie kegging question: I know you are supposed to carbonate at serving temperature. My plan is to use a jockey box at a hot outdoor event. So the kegs will be warm and the beer will be cooled by the jockey box. What temperature should I carbonate at? 32F? Something else?

Cigar City maduro oatmeal brown clone attempt

Reviving an old thread, but was hoping on info on how the extract version went. If it went well, I'd love a more detailed recipe - I'm very new and this isn't quite enough info for me to make it work.... Thanks.

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Two questions (if they were answered up-thread, my apologies) about CraftGBeerPi: 1) Is there support for non-temperature sensors (like volume)? 2) Is there support for using a 1wire i2c controller rather than attaching sensors directly to the GPIO pins? Thanks.

Jockey boxes and serving without electricity

    Oooh.... I like that....

Jockey boxes and serving without electricity

I'm considering switching from bottling to kegging, and have one pressing concern. One of the main places I bring homebrew is a two week long camping event each summer, where electricity is not available (ice is). With bottles it's easy - just keep them in a cooler on ice. But what about...

    Anyone using a Brewtroller Phoneix?

Just what the subject says. Anyone using it? Reviews? How does it compare to the original Brewtroller? Also, anyone using as a fermentation controller? How does that work out for you?

    SSBrewtech ferment temp control

Oh, wow! That plus a BrewPi or something will be awesome. I was going to go with ftss but was annoyed that a) couldn't use it to both chill and heat, b) not programmable, and c) no remote access to controller. This solves all the problems.

    Tri-Clover and hoses

Is silicone tubing safe to boil? I'm assuming yes, since it's used to move boiling wort around... Thanks!

    Tri-Clover and hoses

    Oops, double post.

    Tri-Clover and hoses

So what's the recomended procedure? Take the hoses off each time? Every few brew cycles? Something else? I'm thinking especially of hoses used on the "cold side", for things like fermenter to keg transfer.

    Tri-Clover and hoses

As I understand it, the whole idea with tri-clover is sanitation, not having nooks and crannies where gunk can build up. Which is why folks here say that using NPT to Tri-Clover adapters defeats the point - the threads are not sanitary. What about hoses? If you use a tri-clover to hose barb...

Flushing a jockey box while camping

The major camping event I am concerned with is 1-2 weeks (depending on how long I can take off from work). This year it'll be 12 days. But I wasn't thinking it terms of cold - keeping it on ice the whole time isn't a problem (there's ice available at the campground). So yeah, with the lines...

Flushing a jockey box while camping

I am planning on switching to kegging soon, so doing some planning. One of my primary goals in homebrewing is bringing beer to camping events, where there is no electricity. A jockey box is the obvious solution for making sure the beer is cold. My concern is with keeping it clean. It gets...

    Modifying a Chugger pump head

Bringing back an old thread, but the issue persists. Any reason one can't take an FPT to Triclover adapter (like these: https://www.brewershardware.com/Tri-Clover-X-Female-NPT/), screw it onto the pump head, and then weld (or silver solder, or whatever) it in place, running the bead inside...
