    I have a AHS irish red ale kit. It says to bring 2 1/2 gallons to 155 then steep grains.After doing all additions ,cooling and putting in fermenter,it says add cool water to bring to 5 1/4 gallons. can we initailly boil a larger batch of water,say 4 gallons instead of 2 1/2?     When done with the boil

    When done boiling the extract down,and the wort is cooled,and pouring from the brew kettle to the fermenter,should you pour in whatever settled in the brew pot to the fermentor or leave it in the bottom of the kettle?

    Carbonatinf sarsasparilla

    If I mix the extract and put it in a keg,is it okay to carb with yeast or will it over ferment and turn alcoholic?It is a hombrew extract soda kit. I have a CO2 tank if that would be better. I would just need a cool place to carbonate.

    Starting OG

    The kit calls for a starting OG of 1.047 When everything was done per instructions,the corrected OG at pitch time was 1.050. Will this result in a slightly higher ABV or a sweeter beer? The yeast is Safale S-04
