    Anyone know of a Canadian equivalent to the “good belly” probiotic drinks that are available in the us? I can’t easily get the lacto blends to pitch for kettle souring and was looking for an alternative. I know you can pitch a handful of grain into the wort but I’d rather not go that route. TIA.

    Milk stout gravity

    Brewed a milk stout a couple weeks ago, checked the gravity and it seems to have stopped at 1.022, og was 1.048. It's only 3.4abv, pretty sad beer. It tastes good but I would like a little more abv. I'm gonna rack to secondary and raise the temp a few degrees maybe it will ferment a bit more...

    So im going to attempt growing some hops this year, i dont have the option of planting in the ground. ive read that guys can have success in pots. Any advise on this and whats a good size for the planters, i was thinking 2x2 x3 ft deep.

    all grain brews keep coming out with the same bitter taste...

    I'm in the same boat right now. I have a water softener at home and I'm convinced that's the problem, it's a salty bitter taste in every batch, super frustrating. I just did a batch with 50/50 ro and unsoftened water so I'm hoping it comes out better. Let us know if ya nail it.

    Water quality

    Ya the water tastes fine it does leave a lot of the typical hard water stains on dishes and clogs up the taps. At least before the softener was installed. Maybe I'll do a batch with it and see how it turns out.
