    clear 12oz bottles

I'm bottling mead and would rather do it in 12oz beer bottles than wine bottles. I'm looking for clear to show off the gorgeous colors, but I'm having trouble sourcing them. Anyone have a source?

here are all four of mine going. Once I have some good lighting I'll get a more recent picture because the blackberry and raspberry are turning pretty colors.

I do all my mead in 1 gallon batches. I want to experiment all the time. Today I started a raspberry lemonade and a blackberry lemonade. Both: 2 lemons, peeled and zested 1/2 an orange peeled and zested 2lbs orange blossom honey 1lb alfalfa honey D47 Then in one 2 cups of red...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

So I've been reading back thru this thread since I've been away for it for a good long while and I noticed people still worrying about fruit dropping before bottling. You don't have to wait for the fruit to drop to bottle. as long as the mead's clear then you are in the clear, go ahead and...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

I've made this recipe before and cloudiness and clogging wasn't an issue. Not worried about wild yeast, that just makes it more ancient.

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

Well I've taken quite some time off from brewing due to a corker breaking on me and ******* me off. Lost two batches due to that. Started back up last week and made two variations on the JOAM with about six more ideas on the horizon. Mobile is giving me problems uploading pictures but if...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

that's the one I was looking at getting, but I only make 2 1 gallon batches at a time so I didn't really wanna spend that kind of scratch.

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

went to bottle the blueberry vanilla last night and 2 bottles in my corker broke. I've bottled a total 10 bottles with it so I was a little miffed. anyway it sure is pretty and I liked the flavor directly out of the carboy much more than the original recipe. I will make this one again I still...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

I've seen a lot of people in this thread have success without dissolving the honey so I figured I'd give it a shot. I ran hot water over the bottles the honey was in the entire time I cutting and washing the fruit, added the honey first, then water, shook the piss out of it. I'd say it is...

nearly identical at bottling. bread yeast was just a tad sweeter.

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

Here is 6 of my 8 bottles of JOAM. The three on the right are with D47, cranberry, and the orange pith removed. The three on the left are the original recipe. Taste upon bottling was, to my taste buds, indistinguishable; hot alcohol and orange. got into the lees a little on the original recipe...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

I read the first 60 pages of this thread before I started, seemed like a good idea to me. the standard is all but clear and I'm still about 2 weeks out from the 2 month mark. the D47 is starting to clear but still seems to be having a little fermenting action going on. still got some bubbling...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

found this thread about a month ago and made this my first ever attempt at brewing anything ever. I have two 1 gallon batches in the closet going to town. the first I followed the recipe exactly the second I: replaced the raisins with cranberries. They have tannins too, I looked it up...
