    MoreBeer Pre-Milled Grain And Efficiency

I mash for however long BeerSmith says after messing around with my recipes. I also batch sparge. I’ve always done an iodine test, but, unless I’m screwing that up, it suggests conversion. I’ll have a refractometer on hand this time and will be checking that way as well.

    MoreBeer Pre-Milled Grain And Efficiency

Hi folks, I’m relatively new to the all grain world with only about six batches under my belt, and I’ve come to realize that I need some advice about achieving higher mash efficiency. I recently found that MoreBeer tends to under crush their grains (or at least historically they have...

    TBD IPA

I originally was thinking MO instead anyway. Have yet to brew with it, but have wanted to check it out. Didn’t know Crystal was such a bad choice and I don’t mind ditching it all since that seems to be the consensus.

    TBD IPA

Yeah, I think I’m leaning toward some kind of big version of a WCIPA with a heavy dose of Mosaic on the nose. I also, love a touch of malt in my IPAs so that’s where the crystal came from. Didn’t want to leave it all 2-row.

    TBD IPA

Just looking to get some more eyes on this rough idea of a recipe. Looking to make something slightly West Coast, but not necessarily true to style. Any recommendations? Thanks! -------------------------- Boil Size: 7.77 gal Post Boil Volume: 6.77 gal Batch Size (fermenter): 5.50 gal...

    Kegerator Faucet Parts

Two quick questions, then: 1. From what you can tell, is the faucet even usable? If it will just be a pain to use, I can get by for now. However, if I’m risking making myself sick or making my beer taste awful, then I’m willing to replace it all now. 2. How do shanks and the rest of the...

    Kegerator Faucet Parts

Hi folks, I got my first kegerator recently and I’m trying to make sure I’m good to use it. I got it for free from a friend, but it’s not perfect. My main concern right now is the faucet. The kegerator sat for at least FIVE YEARS with a keg of Bud Light in the lines. I’ve attached a few...

    Inherited A Kegerator: Questions

I just got my first kegerator and I have a few questions: 1. The kegerator hasn’t been used in about 6 years. It still had a keg in it and beer in the line. Can that line in the photo be cleaned? What about the coupler? 2. I want to get some corny kegs, but should I hang on the coupler? It’s...

Brew Bucket owners - What Mini Fridge are you using ?

No updates on any smell coming from these? I’d love to jump on that deal, but I still want to hear from any long-term users for more info.

    Brewjacket Updates

I’m interested to know more about the Brewjacket. What I’d really like to know is if anyone has purchased one recently and/or has dealt with their customer service within the last six months. I’ve read so many posts about their awful shipping times and terrible customer service, but I’m...

Brew Bucket owners - What Mini Fridge are you using ?

So far it seems like the Tramontinas are doing the job. I’m leaning toward using one, but the reviews are all over the place at Sam’s and Amazon. Y’all seem to have clarified a lot regarding the noise and such, but can anyone report back, especially after having used them for a while, about...

    Citra SMASH

What do you mean about the bittering ratio? I’m not familiar with that. Thanks for the input, though! Just trying to put together a simple, easy-drinking brew for the masses this summer.

    Citra SMASH

HA! I should have clarified. Only planning on using about .25oz to .50oz as FWH. I can’t decide on the rest. Thinking of adding them as late as possible, probably at flameout.

    Citra SMASH

Using Safale US-05. Pretty much use it for everything. Brewing tomorrow, will update as things progress with this new batch!

    Citra SMASH

Brewing a second round of a small batch of a Citra SMASH with 2-row. Had all kinds of major issues with first batch on brew day, but the number one noticeable impact in the end was a strong apple juice flavor. Already bought supplies for round two. Thoughts or suggestions for mashing, hopping...

    Mosaic "Imperial" Black IPA Suggestions

One more thing, I assume you meant last five minutes of the boil for the sugar addition? And the more I've read tonight, the more I really feel like ditching the crystal.

    Mosaic "Imperial" Black IPA Suggestions

Also, why cane sugar instead of corn sugar?
