    Redneck Keezer/kegorator

Thanks guys. I hadn't forgot the temp controller but that is a removable addition isn't it? How much internal height do I need for comfort on the kegs?

    Redneck Keezer/kegorator

Folks: I don't really have the time or energy right now to actually build out a Keezer or kegerator. Also, we are building a new house and have just moved in with the in-laws during the process. But of course that means I need more beer stuff to move when we move to the new house. So I was...

Belgian Quad--still has foam cap after 3 weeks

Thanks guys. As it turns out CorporateHippie was correct that what I was seeing was residue on the sides and top of the fermentor (big mouth bubbler) and so when I removed the cap it was as I would have anticipated inside, e.g. no head. Belgian Quad--still has foam cap after 3 weeks

Can I add my priming solution to my big mouth bubbler, stir well, and then bottle from the bubbler or should I transfer to the bottling bucket?

    Head into Airlock

Yesterday I brewed a Belgian Quad. As it was supposed to have an OG of 1090 I pitched a 2000ml yeast starter that was quite active when pitched. Today after work I checked on it and found that the foam head almost filled the 6.5 gallon fermentor (big mouth bubbler) and that the head had...

Missed my OG in an Oatmeal Stout - now what?

I had the opposite issue this afternoon. I somehow overshot my OG. I was supposed to get 1.090 and hit 1.101. I'm assuming it should be fine anyway. I used a 2000ml yeast starter that was going quite well when pitched.

    Holiday Ale Secondary Question

I have read the discussions on extended primary vs secondary. What I haven't seen, or missed, is the timing considerations. There seems to be a strong following for an extended primary with no secondary given modern yeast strains etc. I'm too green to have an opinion. In particular, I have a...
