    Post your infection

My Scottish Wee Heavy. :( I was hoping that this would be ready for St. Paddy's Day (and also not infected). Unfortunately, I mashed in at too high a temp and it only fermented out to 1.020. I added some Yeast Enzyme and Beta Amalyse hoping to wake it up and finish the fermentation, but I...

    How much beer in Kegs

How full do you fill your kegs? I've only kegged three batches so far, and the first two, there was about 4" of air between the top of the keg and the beer. The last brew I kegged, I was able to fill the keg completely, with no air space. I siphoned out a pint so that there was room for co2...

Witbier Blue Balls Belgian Wit (Blue Moon Clone)

My fermentation stopped at 1.030 as well, but I . I had used Wyeast 1056 - American Ale as for initial fermentation. I gave up and kegged it, but I just can't drink it. Yesterday, I went to the Home Brew store and picked up some Safale S04 and yeast nutrients. I am going to remove the...

Does pitching more yeast EVER work?

I'm pretty sure they only "dumped" that 120 for TV. Shortly after, their brew pubs sold "Dogfish Ale" that tasted a lot like a sweet 120. The bartenders described it as hoppy as a 120 minute, mouth feel of a 90 minute, but the ABV of a 60 minute. From what I recall they were delicious and...

    Allagash Curieux Clone

Thanks for publishing this recipe, as it's one of my favorite beers. I chose this for my first 5 gallon batch that I brewed last night. I did the BIAB method with 7.75 gallons of water, did my mash for 80 minutes at 151F, mashed out for 15 minutes at 170F, and squeezed out the brew bag to...

New to me Beverage Air BM23B

That's a great idea! Expanding foam didn't even cross my mind. Your kegerator looks good. It will be inspiration for me. I read that the BM-23 can hold a 10# CO2 tank, so I was planning on going that route. Hopefully it doesn't affect the number of corny kegs that will fit.

New to me Beverage Air BM23B

Thanks. I just ordered some pin lock kegs as they seem to be cheaper with connectors and all new hoses/clamps. I plan on keeping all of the equipment inside so is there any way to seal up the holes? Silicone maybe?

New to me Beverage Air BM23B

My in-laws found a used kegerator for sale and bought it for me. I know it works (as in gets cold) and they have sent me two pictures of it. I am picking it up this weekend. It's going to need a thorough cleaning, but I am trying to figure out what additional pieces I will need. I am going...

    Not enough Carbonation?

I bottled a batch of beer into 32oz bottles on Monday of this week. (My first batch) Last night I opened up one to taste a sample. The beer tasted fine, but was pretty flat. The question I'm getting at is if it's possible to add more sugar to the beers at this stage of bottling to get them to...
