    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I actually have a spigot and hose already that should work well together...and I have the jug already as well. I'm going to give it a go and see how it works. I'll report my findings in a couple of weeks!

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Adding tea isn't something I've considered, although I've had a chai beer or two in my time. Thanks for sharing!

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

So, I've done some bottling with 5 gallon batches before I started kegging everything. Now, that I'm playing with 1 gallon batches, I'm back to bottling. In 5-gallon batches, I added a priming solution to my bottling bucket and siphoned the beer in there to mix...then used the spigot/bottling...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I keg a lot of my 2.5 gallon batches in smaller keg (I think it's 2.5 gallons?) that I bought. They're not that hard to find, but sadly they're no cheaper than a 5 gallon. They also have some great 1 gallon and even 64oz. systems as well. I don't have one yet, but it's on my want list. In a...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Just like Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part. I do a "big" brew of 5 gallons about every 6 weeks, and I try to scatter in a few little brews of either 1 or 2.5 gallons in between. Right now, my fermenting room has two secondary ferments of mead (split from one initial batch for...

    My First Year

Neat article! I just started this week and I'm looking forward to being somewhat close to this experienced in a year. For now, I'm just soaking up knowledge and waiting for beer to mature before drinking "my child". This article certainly helps and gives me both knowledge and optimism.

Just starting - looking for lots of help

Thanks for advice re: size of fermenting bucket. I actually have a 5gal and 6.5gal that are pretty much ready to roll. I'll need to do a bit of research on how to actually use the airlock, but I imagine it's not rocket surgery. As for the size of the batch, does anyone know if it would be bad...

Just starting - looking for lots of help

Thanks for the help in both regards... Sayers - I will check out the Spencer material - great advice. thood6 - Very valuable comments. I'll certainly get a little more extract to add to the boil and I might pick up some specialty grain to steep before the boil. That doesn't seem too...

Just starting - looking for lots of help

Hello all...this is Matt. I got a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas has it has spawned a monster. By this, I mean that my first beer will taste monstrous, but I can also see myself approaching a level of unhealthy addiction for this hobby. After doing a lot of reading and not much brewing (beyond...
