    Thanks for your post Rahbek! I didn't take the original gravity. (put that down to inexperience LOL!!), but the ale I am brewing is a Highland Heavy Ale (quite dark in colour and strong in taste) It should be about 4.7% which is not overly strong, but not weak either!
