Robobrew Gen3.1 vs Brew Monk vs Brauheld 15

What did you wind up getting? What was your experience? I just moved from the USA to Europe and am looking for something similar myself, and am sad that I can't find the Anvil here.

Immersion Chiller + Whirlpool Paddle = Good Idea or No?

I just discovered the @jaybird paddle through a Google search. Wouldn't it be possible to do a hop stand if a whirlpool hop addition is required, then chill with the IC (stirring for efficiency), then remove the IC and then whirlpool? Wouldn't this both protect the IC from getting banged up any...

    DIY Deer Antler Tap Handles

I'm looking to make a pair of antler tap handles from a set that was gifted to me. Can you explain the process of using the epoxy to hold the brass inserts in? I fear that the epoxy would expand into the inner hole in the insert that attaches so the faucet. Thanks!

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Nope, it was the beer probe that died, and at the time it was in the air in the fridge since the fridge currently is holding bottles. I got water proof probes, FWIW. Had no problems during Fermentation, when the beer probe was in the thermowell. I've been putting the fridge probe in water bc...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So I successfully set this bad boy up (I owe pics!), brewed my first beer with it, then set the brewpi to keep my fridge at a nice constant 45 degrees F. I stuck the chamber temp probe in a glass of water to keep the temp more or less controlled. I noticed 2 things that aren't working great...

    Keezer Coolant Lines

How did you work out on this? I also just got this fridge. When bending the shelf down, how did you avoid kicking the line?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Hmm, mine seems to do this too, but my fermentation came out great. I'm wondering what you all attach the fridge probe to while the unit is underway? Beer line probe in the Thermowell and what, fridge probe in a glass of water? Taped to the side wall?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Check the documentation of where you purchased them from. I got mine on eBay and the listing said "Output lead:Red (VCC), Yellow (DATA), Black (GND) or*Red (VCC), Green(DATA), Yellow(GND)" the latter being different than the OP, and sounds like what you have.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

YESSS, I finally solved this (on my own)! Turns out that when I installed and told it I wanted to run web directory in /var/www/brewpi/, that last "/" didn't wind up in the config.cfg file, even though it installed everything in the right place. All I had to do was add that! Hope this helps...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Thanks day_trippr! I totally had to google the terms in your 1st paragraph, but thankfully I understood enough to parse out the 2nd paragraph and got it working!

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Cool. GFCI isn't an option for me (I rent) and my kitch and bathroom are all on the same circuit, but this doesn't seem like a big deal. My current STC-1000 setup has no fuse and has never given me any issues. Yeah, that's what I was linking in #3. Just wanted to make sure the LCD panel I was...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I still haven't solved this. Any ideas, anyone? With a bit more scouring the web, I solved this issue! :rockin: Got this working as well, thanks to some direction from the replies to the post on what to search for. :mug: As I said (see below quote), I do not, but I haven't seen a further...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

No, it's is only being created in /var/www . I tried copying it (with same owner settings to match the original) to /var/www/brewpi, but the Web UI didn't do anything to remove it from there either. Sorry if this wasn't clear: I do know how to use SSH and basic command line prompts (I'm...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Actually, I am a Mac user. Can I do it in the RPi or on a Mac? For the permissions issue you mention, wouldn't it make no difference since the file is created by user "brewpi" and group "www-data", the same that is seeking to delete it? I admit I don't know too much about this stuff. Here is...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Hi, this forum has been super helpful. From my earlier post you guys helped me get my hardware wiring correct. Now I am having a couple software issues: - I am running 1 instance of Brewpi with RPints on a RPi2, wired to ethernet. RPints is in /var/www and Brewpi is in /var/www/brewpi, which is...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

You make an excellent point rabeb25 - I got my probes from ebay/China w/o any markings or documentation. How were you able to figure which is the correct way?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Hi, thanks for the fast reply. The resistor is between the 5v and the data (I had to use a black jumper despite it being the data line, since it's what I had). Yeah, the photo is hard to make out, sorry!
