    E-Stop to Contactor?

Great answer! Thanks, I didn't think about having the panel still energized. I suppose that could be a problem in certain circumstances, and in those cases it would be preferable to have all power off to the area. Now I have some more thinking to do! Thanks again.

    E-Stop to Contactor?

Thanks! I definitely want to have the E-stop, but I was wondering why most people seem to be relying on the GFCI breaker to trip when they hit it? I would prefer to wire it to a contactor or relay instead, but no one here seems to be doing that. Any ideas why? Thanks again!

Wiring a Kedu HY56 power switch

I'm not sure what your switch looks like specifically, but a standard start/stop switch like that is used to momentarily energize a relay or contactor. I have several similar switches on various power tools in my shop. Check out this page for a wiring diagram, about halfway down the page...

    E-Stop to Contactor?

I'm in the process of building my first panel. The goal is to have the ability to start with a single element and pump with a timer, but grow out to two elements / pumps when I get a bit more space. Anyway, looking at what most people are doing here, the consensus seems to be that wiring the...

DIY Stir Plate For Under $10

Made mine in about 45 minutes from stuff I already had around the house. Works like a charm. Thanks for the awesome post! I'd been looking to buy one, but had a hard time justifying the $100 price tag for what is basically a glorified electric motor with some magnets glued on. Never crossed my...

    Post your infection

So I let it ride, and it came out great! It took about three months to clarify again, and the final gravity is very close to 1.000, maybe 1.002. It's in the keg now and although there are some sour notes, it's definitely balanced out by the honey. I would compare it to a strong Belgian ale...

    Post your infection

I've got a bunch of 1.5 gal carboys I got from a friend. This might be the perfect opportunity to fool around with a few different recipes. Any suggestions?

    Post your infection

New to the posting, but I've been lurking for a while. I've been brewing for about a year, and have done maybe 30 batches or so. Never had an infection, or any suspicion of one until now. This is a 10 gallon batch of Honey Wheat that I split and pitched S-04 in one and S-05 in the other. Both...
