If kits are your thing you have to try this

Anyone new to home brewing will appreciate the wonderful kits that Jasper's Homebrew and Winemaking has to offer. I drove to Louisville back in February and helped a friend brew his first batch. "I Eat Danger For Breakfast" was the kit that he started with. Amazing quality and fast shipping...

    Brew Report and Temperature Recording

I am not sure what type of digital bbq thermometer you were using, but by application they are normally designed to be inserted into meat to display internal temperature, which would be exposed to liquid from the meat itself. If the model is a type used to display the ambient temperature inside...

    Brew Report and Temperature Recording

I ran across an interesting website that has data loggers that may just do the trick. They are inexpensive and can use standard thermocouples. They even have 802.11 wireless models with acquisition software exportable to Excel. Check it out...

    Brew Report and Temperature Recording

WildTex - I am actually using a Fluke 289 with FlukeView Forms. It is not cost effective for doing this, but since I had one laying around, it did a wonderful job. As far as lagering I am limited to a 24 hour logging window. I am looking to incorporate some other items for this use, but like...

    Bottle Dryer - Holds 54 bottles <$10.00

scooner my friend, as I mentioned in the original posting the possibility of using UHMW. I should have been more specific, as to the UHMW being Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE). That is what some chopping boards you mentioned are made of, and alternatively HDPE, which is High...

    Bottle Dryer - Holds 54 bottles <$10.00

Absolutely adamreef, that is why I had mentioned the UHMW as an alternative. Any material that can be easily machined would be a great alternative. I would imagine the sink cutout from a counter top would be a perfect piece to use.

They are not made in Michigan, they are manufactured in China. The company stated that were working on manufacturing them here. I responded that as soon as they do I may purchase some of their items.

    Brew Report and Temperature Recording

I am fairly new to home brewing and wanted to share the temperature data and brew report form my second batch. I am attempting to capture as much data as possible, so a great recipe will be easily duplicated. From the chart it will be pretty obvious with the temperatures, as to what part of...

    Bottle Dryer - Holds 54 bottles <$10.00

This is a bottle dryer I made back in December of 2012 that holds 54 12oz. bottles. I uploaded the photos into the image area but I thought more people would see it here. I didn't like the idea of the bottle tree, and I thought others may agree. The cost was estimated at less than $10.00...

New Glarus - Cherry Stout Clone?

I am looking to brew something as similar as possible to the New Glarus Cherry Stout. I have searched the forum without coming up with anything. If anyone knows of a clone recipe, or could lead me in the right direction, I would appreciate the help.

The dimensions are 22" x 15" with 1.25" holes on 2.5 spacing. Any wood will do. Apply seal to prevent water damage. You could also use a sheet of UHMW, but I had scrap wood around the garage.
