Hey man I will definitely be in touch. We are also located on Long Island, though out east. Would love to pick your brain some more.

1 bbl system - bottle? keg? carbing? filtration?

Thanks guys - have already done both. Problem is I am sort of in between homebrewer and pro at this point. This forum is much more active - and I think has a lot more ingenuity then probrewer so I figured I would post it here.

1 bbl system - bottle? keg? carbing? filtration?

Hey guys I am putting together a 1bbl system with future purpose of selling our beers. We are currently in licensing etc and so that's why I am coming up with the production line. This is basically a pilot program (think market research/feasibility study) for a large brewpub in the next 2-3...

    sabco/corny compatability

Yeah http://www.plastickegsamerica.com - I have looked into them and requested a quote. Read some good things and read some bad things. It might be a good option for us to use intially - and even if the kegs wear out within a year at least then we will have bought some time (literally) to...

    sabco/corny compatability

I didn't even know there was a difference between 1/6 and 1/4. For me 1/4 would probably be ever better - so I will look into that. Thanks for the heads up.

    sabco/corny compatability

While I am sure I could talk bars into doing this - obviously I would rather not have to. I knew there was a difference but didn't know how much. The reason I am thinking 1/6 bbl kegs is to insure freshness as we will be a startup brewery so demand wont be huge to start. Also 1/2...

    sabco/corny compatability

Hey guys - I tried to do a search for this but was simply overwhelmed with what came back as you can imagine the keywords are everywhere. I am wondering how compatible 5 gallon corny kegs are with regular 1/2 barrel sankey hookups that are typical in bars? What would be involved to be able to...

50 gal batches - what to use for MLT

Thanks for the lead - very similar to stuff I have already looked at. Have to compare it with shipping etc. Seems to be quite a few solutions out there for fermentation for a fairly affordable price - especially if your buying 6-7 of them to start.

    big batches - what chiller?

If you read my other thread you will know i am currently trying to plan out an upgrade of my system to do 50 gallon batches. Sort of a pilot system. Anyways I have been just fine with my IC up till know - but it's just not gonna cut it when I move up in batch size. It would seem plate...

50 gal batches - what to use for MLT

I am looking for leads locally right now. No luck on craigslist Anyone mind sharing how they found their guy? Are their particular stores/vendors I should go and ask that might have some laying around?

50 gal batches - what to use for MLT

Would something like this work? http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog_name=USPlastic&category_name=25&product_id=15696# With $15 estimated shipping it's MUCH cheaper then the cooler route. Even if you figure in the cost of insulating it it's still way cheaper.

50 gal batches - what to use for MLT

Thanks for the leads guys - I will definitely look into these. Anyone got any pics of one?

50 gal batches - what to use for MLT

Small brewery. So yeah it would need to be consistent.

50 gal batches - what to use for MLT

I am trying to mock up a way to upgrade our batches to the 50 gallon range. The kettle and fermentation are straight forward enough - just spend some money. I am having trouble figuring out a way to come up with a straightforward solution to doing a mash this large. Would you guys say it's ok...

25 gal brew kettle on banjo burner???

I am currently looking to upgrade my brewing equipment and I am looking at the 25 gallon brew kettles. Thinking of getting the brew kettle and a few 30 gal plastic conicals to really step up my production. My question is will my banjo burner be able to cut it? Or do I need to beef that up...

    Logo/Graphic artist recommendations?

Hey guys, I wanted to ask those of you that have used graphic artists to work on your logo's if you could let me know. We are currently in the process of getting our license packet in order and we wanted to start rolling with a logo. We are fully prepared to pay the professional rate, and I...

    Need opinions again

I agree with most - #1 is the winner #2 is good - but just doesn't fit with the style of beer. Great labels

    Shady Lady Brewing Company

Wow that's pretty funny. Never heard of it - but if I am ever in the area I am gonna have to check it out - haha.

    Shady Lady Brewing Company

Thanks - we really like it too. It's a fun logo and that's why we brew - we take it seriously - but you drink beer to have fun after all right? haha I had the girl herself done by a graphic artist I do business with, I know he free-handed her first then xfered the concept to digital and...

    Shady Lady Brewing Company

Hey guys - just had to share - finished up our logo and now putting the finishing touches on our labels. Not much of a back story for the name - we just thought it was fun, and we get a kick out of telling people we named our brewery in honor of our wives! Would love to hear some feedback.
