    AHS Sour Ginger Peach Ale

It's generally bad form to give away a recipe a business has put time, energy & passion into creating.

    Your Millennial score is

    I'm 29, a bleeding heart liberal, make-no $ on purpose, jesus following dude. And... I got a 21. Ha.

    Chi Company Temperature controller problems

I actually never even needed a replacement. It took an hour or so or tinkering around, plugging/unplugging... calibrating etc. But ever since its been working flawlessly. Definitely worth the small struggle for the price.

too much wasted beer during Secondary Carboy

Make sure to take a book or something and put it under one side of the carboy, so that its tipped. This helps all the liquid drain to one side for easier siphoning.

    Karankawa Pale Ale

Sounds normal. Let it sit another week or 2 at least.

    Karankawa Pale Ale

As someone who is already drinking this beer... it is a crowd-pleasing beer. It IS NOT an IPA in terms of bitterness, aroma, etc... make the recipe as written and you'll get a very nice, very drinkable pale ale.

2 perlick taps and shanks needed

I went with these... seemed to be the best I could find for both the faucet & shank http://www.williamsbrewing.com/PERLICK_FORWARD_SEAL_FAUCET_WI_P1476C65.cfm

    Yet Another Keezer Build!

Surprised there isn't more discussion on this keezer. How's it been working for you? The design seems pretty ingenious... any downside so far? How's the efficiency as far as temp control/weather proofing, etc? Great design- definitely going in that direction if it has been working for you!

    Karankawa Pale Ale

I kegged it Saturday afternoon and pulled a small (6-8oz) glass this evening just to give it a taste. Nice head. Decent, but not overwhelming aroma. Definitely as easy-drinking Pale Ale. I'm not sure I'd categorize it as "aggressively" hopped, but it is a very nice beer. Obviously it has a...

Empty co2 tank? Idiot human? Both?

Oh- I just had the regulator screw out too far. It was real, real dumb. Though in my defense- it was really screwed out. Don't remember ever taking it out so far.

Empty co2 tank? Idiot human? Both?

Definitely Human Error. All is well.

    Yet another Keezer build begins...

Looks great! What wood are you going with?

Empty co2 tank? Idiot human? Both?

I searched, I promise. My 1st keg just blew (empty etc) It was pressured the whole time, never found to have any leaks, had it (and the 5# co2 tank) inside a keezer. When the keg blew, I turned off the co2, but left it there for 24 hours. Today I went down to clean the keg... when I went...

    Karankawa Pale Ale

Thought it only fair to Forrest & everyone to report back after taking a hydrometer sample/reading last night. There is NO sickly sweet Sunny D smell left. It smelled wonderful and tasted really really nice- even in its warm/flat state. Getting really excited to start drinking this.

    Karankawa Pale Ale

I brewed this about 10 days ago... still sitting in the primary. I've only taken a whiff when replacing the blow-off tube w/ the airlock... but the only thing I can compare the smell to was early memories of Sunny Delight-- the pseudo orange juice. It didn't small bad at all.. just different...

Christmas Disaster! Stuck thermometer mash temp high

That sounds fancy :) I just went through w/ it, pitched the yeast, etc. I won't be home til the 30th... is that even worth the effort to do the starch check?

    Chi Company

I think it is like "mjc" or something, actually. I only have ordered 1 item, but packing/shipping/communication was great.

    Christmas Eve Brewing?

Was doing a mini-mash and the thermometer stuck at 145 degrees... so I kept slightly upping the temp. When I got concerned, I tried another thermometer and the actual liquid temp was nearly 190. It was somewhere between 150 moving up to 190 for 15-20 minutes.

    Christmas Eve Brewing?

Brewing the Promo Karankawa Pale from AHS today. Made the 1st big dumb mistake since my first batch 3 years ago... here's to hoping for a Christmas Miracle!
