    Man, I love Apfelwein

I'm familiar with homebrewing and bottling beer and from what I understand carbonated beer is to be bottled in beer bottles because wine bottles are more likely to be bottle bombs because they're not strong of a bottle correct? So with Apfelwein can you bottle them in wine bottles given the...

Cherry wood aged chocolate imperial stout (Yeti clone based)

After the toasted chips were soaked, did you add the chips+rum or just the rum or just the chips in secondary? I want to do something like this with a dark saison i'm about to move to secondary. Thanks!

I've heard the owner of NRH Beer and Wine will special order whatever you want. EDIT: Market Street is another good option.

    DFW Grain Buy #5

So what is our next step? Texas Brewing explicitly said they won't help? Has anyone contacted Foreman's, Brewhaus, and Homebrew Headquarters? I'm happy to pick up the phone if no one has already.

    DFW Grain Buy #5

djii, so you're saying that if we ask all the LHBS's in the area if they'll help us and they all say no, the distributor has to do it? How does that work exactly? I've never heard of this. It seems to me that the distributor can just say, "We distribute to retailers in your area. Case closed."...

NY'er in Arlington. Looking for recommendations.

Rahr and Martin House breweries are in downtown ft Worth which should be within 30 mins. Not sure on tours but their websites will no doubt have details. Zio Carlo is a brewery restaurant just south of downtown. In the same neighborhood as Zio Carlos is Live Oak which has an incredible tap wall...

    DFW Grain Buy #5

Foreman's in colleyville has better prices on sacks of grain than stubbys. The bulk buys are even lower.

    Any DFW deals?!?!

There was Best Little Brewfest in Texas at TMS last Saturday. Most of the breweries do Saturday tours for cheap, but soon the pricing may change due to new legislation allowing taprooms at breweries. It could go either way, but I wouldn't be surprised if it made brewery tours go up in price if...

    Easy Homemade Secondary Regulator

I also would love to know where the gauges came from. Did some googling but the only ones that measure in the 0-30PSI range i found are automotive fuel pressure gauges.

    LHBS with kegs?

Amazing. He's actually come down on his price. I asked him about a bulk buy in Aug of last year, and he quoted $38 each for a pallet of 20 and $37.50 each for a pallet of 40. Freight threw the price to near $42 per keg. I was thinking about buying a bunch and selling on CL for a profit, but it's...
