    tried my hefeweizen from NB after a week of bottle conditioning and holy crap! freaking amazing. had a co-worker say it was better than any hefe he has ever tried (although i don't think he has had any German hefes, only American lol) and the Tiger Tank Altbier was amazing as well...

    4 Weeks in Primary for Hefeweizen?

    Holidays took a toll on my $$$... finally ordered 48 12oz bottles from NB and getting them Wednesday which will be week # 4 in the primary. Is 4 weeks fine? I'd assume so but haven't really seen much info on Hefe's and fermenting lol

    HOLY COW!!!! so my last day at the office b4 christmas break, gave a few of the Tiger Tank Altbier's to some co-workers. Well i had one left so i decided to stick it in the fridge for a couple hours and see what it tastes like at its current state. now i bottled this last monday; only 4 days...

    how much would you say you had? i know w/ like Hofbrau or Franziskaner or Weihenstephaner it seems like its about a quarter of an inch or so of yeast at the bottom.

    still curious about the yeast being siphoned into bottle question..... o and btw the hefe looks freakin amazing. not only does it totally look like hefe but it smells like hefe. I CANNOT WAIT TIL THIS BATCH IS DONE!!!

    Why the insistencies? WHY?

    after i bottled my Tiger Tank Altbier I was afraid that the bottles would not be consistant carbonation w/ all of them b/c i did not stir. but alas, my fears are diminished b/c of this thread! many thanks.

    question for the brewmasters.... i know the traditional way of drinking it is to pour the beer in a glass or stein ;) then swirl the yeast and pour it on the beer. so when bottling the hefeweizen is it recommended to bottle some of the yeast as well? or is there enough in the beer w/ the...

    Bottled my Tiger Tank Altbier on Monday and got a chance to brew my Hefeweizen from NB. Everything went flawless (just was a bit late to work lol) and i remembered to take an SG reading this time :) SG is 1.040 Can't wait to taste this batch!

    i soaked them in dishsoap water to get the initial crap off and to peel most of the labels off... i'll tell you, Sierra Nevada's labels are a PITA! then dunked the bottles in Star San solution b4 bottling. couldn't use some of my bottles b/c there was a bit of mold at the bottom and i even tried...

    woohoo finally made it to bottling day and boy was it tiresome to clean old bottles (going to just buy new bottles for my next batch lol) boiled priming sugar according to instructions and dumped it in then started bottling :D gave it a taste as well and delicious, but a it seemed flat...
