    f@#k its hot

If you're in the Dallas area hit up some local brew gardens like Good Friends(White Rock area(amazing burgers too)) or Flying Saucer(everywhere). While not usually featuring a diverse tap selection Stans on Lower Greenville does specials on Texas brews on Tuesdays...I think. If you want to...

    Recipe adaptation

I'm wanting to brew a clone of Firestone Walker's Double Jack Imperial IPA and all the recipes I find are a little out of my depth equipment-wise. I only have a 5 gal. brew kettle that can hold ~10 # of grains. So I've scaled back JNish's clone recipe found here by dividing by 6 and...

    LME DME conversion

I was looking for something simple to do for a light summer beer and decided on Bluelinebrewer's Strawberry Blonde but I have a question regarding the recipe. It's an extract calling for LME but my LHBS doesn't tend to have a solid stock on the stuff. Can I do a simple pound for pound...

Fruit and Spice Beer Blood Orange Belgian Wit

For those of us who brew in carboys how would you suggest handling the oranges when you put the wort into the primary? I don't relish the thought of shoving a grain bag in there and then trying to fish it out in a week and a half.

    Partial mash conversion

It's entirely possible. I've never used beersmith before much less done the conversion so...learning curve.

    Partial mash conversion

I'm wanting to attempt Yoopers "Fizzy Yellow Beer" but as a partial mash. Is the conversion that BeerSmith popped out a good one or would anyone tweak anything? Never used BS for an AG to partial conversion before. Original: 7 lbs Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM) Grain 70.00 % 3 lbs Pilsner (2 Row)...

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

I tossed my Jameson soaked beans in the other day, I'll report back. I will say the vanilla infused Jameson is a nice side affect of brewing this recipe.

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Brewed this last Sunday(hoping it's ready for St. Pat's) using Wyeast 1056 and the fermentation started early and aggressively(though no monsters growing out of the airlock). OG came in at 1.06. Thinking about tossing in a Jameson soaked vanilla bean during the last week so we'll see how that...

    Pumpkin ale critique

Bottled it yesterday. Yielded 3.75 gallons with a starting density of 1.92 and a final of 1.11. Nice slightly dark caramel color.

    Pumpkin ale critique

So what would you suggest? Take it back by half? Maybe down to 2 lbs?

    Pumpkin ale critique

Like everyone else it seems I'm doing a pumpkin ale. I'm fairly new to this having only done two other batches before and would appreciate some insight into this batch. 5 Gallons 8 lbs. Roasted pumpkin 1 lb Vienna malt .5 lb Crystal malt .5 lb. Malted wheat 6 lbs. light DME 1 oz Mt...
