    First Lager fermentation batch...

Hello Friends, I have converted my mini fridge into a temp controlled fermentation chamber and attempted my first lagering process. The lager yeast has been active for two weeks. Now it has stopped fermenting and my brew buddy has said that I should bottle it if it has reached final gravity...

An addendum to my previous post...

Since my previous post is now CLOSED, I am re-iterating my thoughts on getting my colleagues to "PITCH - IN" for drinking my homebrew. Far too many of you cranky ****s blew up my post, making me quite aware that selling homebrew is ILLEGAL. Im not a *******, I KNOW THAT. Anyone that does not, is...

I dont want to give out free beer...

Basically, my test subject are my fellow employees at the office/work. Previously I have "given away" my beer to those who have shown their interest in drinking my beer. I have had a lot of "that was the best beer Ive ever tasted" and a few of "yeah..that was a good beer" which usually means...

    What's up with this brew?

Extract Chinook IPA. Did everything right I'm sure. No real problems. The fist six pack I drank tasted awesome! Full flavor of the chinook hops. BUT there is always quite a few that come out highly carbonated and really awful tasting. This brew is about 2 months in the bottle. Should I be...

Tons of Sugars and Specialty Grains

I have a massive amount of Roasted Barely that I really want to get something going with them. Most of the stout recipes use less than 1 lb in a boil. Is there any other brews out there that i could use more of this stuff in the brew???

    Stuck fermentation?

I just brewed a SMASH with Munich grain (with a yeast nutrient at 10 min) and placed it to ferment in the garage which is about 68-75 degrees during the day. The Fermometer shows it going down to 64 degrees at night. I used Safbrew S-33 dry yeast with a 600 ml starter, Beersmith calculated I...

    Rate me Corona crush.

I just got a knock off Corona off of Amazon Zander wanted some opinions on the consistency of the crush. Too much? It appears that some if the grains don't even get cracked.

I got a deal on grains. Now i need a recipe.

Unfortunately the homebrew shop near my work closed down. Fortunately for me he was selling everything dirt cheap! I got several of his actual grain bins with tons of grains in them for 15 bucks a pop. The only thing I need is recipes. Here is my list: DME = +/- 20lbs Crystal Malt 20L = +/- 50...

    Honey Wheat recipe

I have recently made a Honeywiessin recipe from NB and added 3 cups total to the recipe. The result was pretty good for one of my last extract brews but I wanted to see of there is anyone out there that has a really impressive recipe for a honey recipe. Doesn't have to be a wheat but I have a...

    RO water

I just recently started using Reverse Osmosis water from my 3-stage RO system. My Choc Milk Stout came out great tasting as well as a honey wiesen, both extract. I did notice that both carboys had noticeable active fermenting for a good two weeks until I racked into the secondary. The honey brew...

All Grain newbie has a question...

I have been doing extract beer so far and am ready to graduate to brewing all grain. However, I wanna do a few 1 gallon batches first. Can I scale down a 5 gallon recipe to a 1 gallon batch? If so how easy is it?

La Petite Orange - Northern Brewer

I have done more than 8 batches so far but I had a brew that came up a little short recently. I brewed a northern brewer kit, la petite orange, and followed instructions precisely. Only difference was the kit didn't include coriander or the orange peel as it states in a small paragraph before...

    Honey brew question.

Hey everyone I want to make a brew with some raw honey that my wife brought home recently. It is some of the best honey I have ever tasted. Issue with my IPA

A while back I asked for some advise on an IPA that seemed to be in the fermenter too long. No carbonation after 4 months leads me to believe that the yeast may have dropped out. What are my options now? Be specific. Any good ideas. I don't really want to dump the whole batch.

    My new brewing cave!!!

I just recently bought a two story house with an enclosed closet under the stairs on the first floor. I immediately told my wife that I claimed this closet in the name of BEER! So after I get all of the non important stuff moved into the house I can start planning out my layout. It's about 5x5...

So a friend and fellow homebrewer gave me a 6-pk of his Russian Imperial Stout to drink. Which tasted AWESOME. I even let others try it and they also thought it was great. I was down to my last one and was savoring the thought of drinking this smooth high ABV delicious beer when I popped the cap...

    A little help?

Hello all, I had a question about my latest homebrew that I was hoping to get some advice on. Here's the deal. I recently brewed a 6 gallon extract 115 dream hopbursted IPA from Northern Brewer.com. Well all of it didn't fit into my carboy so I had a 1 gallon glass jug that I poured the rest...
