    Bent mouth on Keg

Try some excess keg lube. If that doesn't help then you'll prob need to re-bend it Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Home Brew mobile app

    1/6 Keg

They are actually pretty easy to disassemble and fill as a homebrewer. YouTube some instructional videos and you should be able to figure it out. The only tools you'll need are a flat head screwdriver with a 1/8 in head and a pair of needle nose pliers. Just make sure you relieve the pressure...

    Using a Rftmtr

The automatic temperature correcting (ATC) refractometers will only correct for ambient temperature, not the temperature of the sample itself. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Home Brew mobile app

    Blichmann regulator hose on fire

Haha! For this reason, I would be walking AWAY from the burner when it was on. I've used numerous ****ty and decent propane burners and never had this issue. Way to go Blingmann! Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Home Brew mobile app

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

I've got a box made, stained, and clear coated for my pump. My next DIY is a stand for my burner rig. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Home Brew mobile app

    Counterflow chiller methods

You could run this with your current CFC in parallel if you had two pond pumps and a little extra gravity (or wort pump of you have one of those). Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Home Brew mobile app

    Keggle mash tun with screen?

Since the bottom of kegs are domed, a bazooka screen attached to the valve would be about 4 inches above the bottom of the keg. You'd have a huge dead space issue and horrible efficiencies using a bazooka tube in a keg. You're better off with a false bottom and a dip tube in a keggle. I have...

    Sodium hydroxide (caustic) question

Caustic is bad. I work in a brewery and had some splash (still not exactly sure how it happened) on my ankle while I was rinsing out a jockey box for a beer fest. 2 hours later my ankle felt itchy so pulled my sock down expecting a blister or something and saw the first picture. My sock had a...

Large mouth carboy from Northern Brewer

My main concern would be the threadings on vigorous fermentations (i.e. specifically on batches where a blow off tube is REQUIRED). Does the threading get gunked up and how difficult is it to clean? Also, what is the porting and availability to even hook up a blow off tube? Looks like you can...

How do you clean your siphon tubes?

Not positive on the Star-San. It is phosphoric acid... I'd just try to limit any soak on plastics to ~30 min. Glass is fine with prolonged soaks with either PBW or Star-San. Also, as a side note, Star-San keeps it's potency for about a month. You can conserve sanitizer by keeping it in an...

How do you clean your siphon tubes?

The cloudiness is from the hot water and prolonged PBW soaks. The plastic siphon pieces get micro fractures from hot water and extended cleaner soaks. Eventually they will form legit cracks and cause leaks. I flush mine with homemade PBW in slightly warm tap water for no longer than 30 min...

    Barrel sided Keggle Build question.

You can use them. I know people do, but I just think they are fugly (the kegs...and some of the people). However, getting a sight glass on it might be an issue if you ever want one.

Large mouth carboy from Northern Brewer

Yeah, I'd imaging there's not much worse than cleaning hardened on krausen from plastic threadings.

Cleaning aside, it also allows for the addition of hop bagged items that you don't want floating free in the fermenter. It's essentially a glass bucket in that regard.

    Two Headed Monster Keg

You have any idea what you're going to do with it?

    Two Headed Monster Keg

Got this bad boy for free from the brew pub where I work.* I've never seen one like this before, but we use a similar one to clean out our draft lines. It holds a little more than 5 gal.* I'm guessing it's the same volume as a sixtle, has dual sankey keg connections, AND a large corny style...
