Northern Brewer Support (or lack of)

I never used them. Even when they had good and fast service they cost too much. When I lived in NH I shopped at my LHBS Jaspers and they taught me to brew. After I moved I kept ordering from them at their website (boomchugalug). They ship me my stuff to MA sometimes the next day! I...

Thanks for the help. Going to purchase some brewing software before next batch. This way I can play with the recipes and still get a good final beer.

Size of Greenlee knockout punch for 1/2" barb

1/2 inch knock out punch makes a 7/8 inch hole. Are you looking to make 1/2 hole? I punched a 7/8 hole for my valve and 1/2 hole for my thermometer. The knockout punch that makes the 1/2 inch hole was a ***** to find. Finally found it on amazon.

Extract Brewing - late malt addition question

I have noticed that recipes with higher IBU's tend to have you add some malt or other fermentables toward the end if the boil. Like this dogfish clone www.boomchugalug.com/downloadables/recipes/catbird_5400.pdf Do they do this to use less hops or boil volume? I'd love to know because I am...

Who carries the best extract kits ?

Has anyone mentioned Boomchugalug.com? I got two kits from them last month. They are both in the bottle now, can't wait to try. A friend in NC recommended them, but I had never heard of them.
