    Question about clear bottles

I have had a similar issue. I had an all grain batch that I kegged the majority of the batch. I also bottled 12 with carb tabs. 6 went in the fridge after 2-3 weeks they were carve up nicely. 6 stayed in pantry for 4-6 weeks around 78-83 degrees. These bottles were explosive. Had to open all...

    Carb tabs no worky!

Well I'll post how it turns out. I'll add more tonight. Should I warm up the bottles to room temp? Then leave to condition at room temp since they have been in fridge for a couple of weeks?

    Carb tabs no worky!

Ok I'm dumb. Guess I should read the package! Ha! And can I now drop in more and re cap em? I'll bring them out of the fridge and let warm back up them drop in 3-4 more tabs. Maybe give it a little shake?

    Carb tabs no worky!

Ok here's the deal. I kegged 5 gallons if my beer. That's all good. I also bottled a 12 pack if the same beer I kegged. I capped the bottles set them a side to condition. A few days later I was reading through all my notes and realized I didn't drop any if the carb tabs in the bottles. Oops...

    Keggle build

As far as weld vs weldless I went with weld because I too have a friend that has a shop. I also thought the chances of developing a leak were far less with the bulkhead welded in as opposed to bolted in. Also it was a lot less expensive to pc. together the fittings myself rather than buying a...

    Keggle build

I am currently building a BK and a HLT. So far I have cut the tops of of the kegs and ready to add the fittings. I have the capability of welding or not for the bulk heads. Only planning adding a valve to each right now and thermometer and sight glass down the road. My question is is there a...

    1st all grain batch

Ok good info. Will be making a Sierra Nevada clone Has around 11-12 lbs of grain. If you use 9 lbs and call that a smaller beer. Where does this fall on the big-small beer scale?

    1st all grain batch

Thanks for quick response. What about a 5-10 gal round cooler. Better idea. For 5 gallon batches. I do plan on doing larger batches in near future. Just want to get my feet wet in all grain before going a little bigger

I will be doing my first all grain batch soon. Trying to get all equipment lined up. Mash tun... I have a 120 qt igloo cooler in my barn is like to use since I already own it. Is it too large for a 5 gallon batch? Will I have significant heat loss due to the empty space above the grain bed...

    Dry hopping pellets

Ok good help.... New related question. Dry hopping obviously is beneficial. (People do it all the time) However have any of you ever dry hopped part of a brew and not dry hopped another portion of the same brew and tasted the difference? If so, what if any, was the difference?

    Dry hopping pellets

Quick question: going to dry hop for the 1st time this week. The recipe called for whole hops. Just realized LHBS gave me pellets? #1 does this matter? #2 can I just drop them in with no bag

Thanks for the reminder. Only problem is I am vain and looks kinda redneck coming out of plastic bottles as compared to glass. But I think I'll go redneck. After all I'm originally from Arkansas! BA da ding ding ding (banjo music)
