    How much priming sugar

    I ended up with 4 gallons of beer in my secondary and I am almost ready to bottle. How much priming sugar should I use? Thanks for your time. Primary: None Secondary: Oatmeal stout Bottled: Pale ale

    Fermenting at 80 Degrees

    I agree I put my fermentaion bucket in a cooler and put some ice with some tap water and put a towel around it. It is running a temp at 70F consistant and pluse its in my garage because my kids like to mess with it. It didnt cost me a thing.:ban:

    Oatmeal Stout

    I left this morning at 5am to do some testing for the california corrections and came home at 5pm and found my fermenter bubbling like a champ. I was a little worried when i left it wasnt bubbling yet. Hope it turned out right but my OG was 1.030 at 80F:rockin: and not 1.056.

    I might be jumping the gun but I have no fermentaion activity in my airlock. It has been 24 hrs. since I piched the yeast at 80F. Anyone have any ideas what I need to do? I might have to repitch the yeast tomorrow. Thanks:rockin:

    partial mash temp question

    I did this batch last night and I put in 3 gal. of water for the oatmeal and grain steeping. I should have used 2 bags for the oatmeal but no turning back now and I will see how it went in a few days. :mug:

    I am a new brewer and only brewing partial mash, but I was wondering if the beer making programs are for only AG or can be used with Partial mash. I would like to switch to AG here in a few months after I get all the equipment. Thanks for your time.:ban:

    A ton of carbonation ( Bottled )

    I had the same problem also, I added table sugar to my beer when I was making my basic pale ale. I seen that on youtube and thought it would be ok and wished i didnt but oh well and also i put corn sugar in the bottles instead mixing it in the beer. Well all in all it had to much carbonation...

    I do have a spigot and tired to put the hose on it but the hose was to small for the darn spigot. I guess i need to get a bigger hose. Thanks for the reply.

    I tried to bottle my brew with the bottle filler but i had some troubles. I put the brew higher than the bottles and sucked some of the brew closer, i put the bottle filler and nothing. So I just used the hose instead of the bottle filler, I racked 7 bottles and put the rest in another bucket...

    Hello new brewmaker here

    I started my first batch of brew on monday a basic pale ale. I can't wait to bottle and drink the beer i made to see how it turned out. I would like to make a hef or hefe (think thats how u say it?) next. Well wish me luck and this hobby is looking very promising.
