    haha i think i'll skip the microwave and just deal with boiling in a pot. i want a moderate spice aroma and flavor and i brewed 4 gallons with an OG of 1.061, so i'm thinking i'll add 1.5 tsp to the priming solution after it has boiled and let it steep.

    I really don't want to have to go out and get another set of equipment. My dishwasher has an "anti-bacteria" cycle. What if I were just to throw everything in there and do a heated dry afterwards, and then after that use star-san on everything? Edit: I wouldn't use detergent
