I can't really speak for everyone as I left back in early march to take on a new career path but have been in communication with those who were left. I can however verify the note which was posted back on Friday did come from an employee and no one has been in within a few hours after the...

5 Ways to Tweak Your Recipe...Without Touching a Single Ingredient

Correct me if I am wrong on this and would love to see write ups if you got them as I enjoy reading that stuff. Maillard reactions happen above 212F (220+F). Maillard reactions happen during the malting processing of the grain and not in the kettle due to the low temps. Maillard reactions do...

8 Gallon Brewcraft Buckets and Peppers?

I hear that a lot but I swear I must have a magical cutting board (20+ years old actually) and even hab's never seem to stay on it. I do coat the board in liquid dish "soap" for at least 30 minutes before I wash it plus a dash of fresh citrus juice sometimes as well before the clean. If...

8 Gallon Brewcraft Buckets and Peppers?

Anyone have any knowledge on this? These buckets are always my primary for beer and wine. I know they have one hell of a coating on them as I have been using them for up to 3-4 years now and they have yet to be stain (red wines have sat in them for 6+ months) and months of dried krausen comes...

My best Christmas Present! A keezer which needs some work.

Haven't been on here much in the past few years. But in that time a little more rust got into the bottom due to a beer leak. Sanded the inside using 60 grit sand paper then used a rustoleum spray paint rust converter/primer then 3 coats of appliance epoxy. Later the wood will get refinished...

    Biofine vs Isinglass vs Gelatin

I have used irish moss, super moss, whirlflock, bentonite (once long ago), & clarity ferm. Currently use whirlfloc in most beers and just tried out clarity ferm in my last batch. Will test out biofine clear soon. I recommend don't drink so much during your brew day and you should remember...

First Attempt At Creating A Recipe - Belgian Strong Ale

Bringing this back from the dead. Entered this beer in a competition back around April I think it was and it scored a 41, 3rd place. Though the beer was rated higher than the 2 places in front of it the main judge for the mbos thought the 2 others were better (also that guy prefers dubbels over...

Hop Tea? (adding ibu's post boil)

Or whatever the process is of boiling some hops in water to up the ibu's in a batch of beer after boiling process is called. Couldn't find it under hop tea. Does anyone know of a formula or standard process of doing this. Say 1oz of hops in 1/2cup of water or what? How long would you boil...

Well... this is now fully hooked up but only 3 working taps as I am missing a gas QD for a ball lock keg and only 4 kegs at the moment. All MFL connections except from the reg. Oo... I never did clean the inside... haha.

My best Christmas Present! A keezer which needs some work.

Thanks! I was thinking CLR, grout/caulk cleaner, or maybe even oxyclean to clean up the inside but not sure what is the best option. I will definitely look into that one. Reason for thinking the 5 series was for its newer tech with float O ring :p and for the 525 our brew club might do a bulk...

My best Christmas Present! A keezer which needs some work.

At first I was ehhh no. I want to build my own and that's way out of my budget..... but then I found out that they were going to buy it.:rockin: With having this I can now lager and produce more beer. I was stuck to 2 kegs at a time with my fridge. This will hopefully be fully operational in...
