    I drooled in my wine thief.

    I just pulled a sample from my carboy by sucking on my wine thief and I accidentally drooled in my wine thief while it was in there. The beer is finished fermenting at around 4% abv. I pulled it out right away, do you think some bacteria could have gotten in the beer?

    Garden hose water got in my chilled wort, how bad?

    I went inside to sanitize a thermometer and my 2 year old grabbed the end of my immersion chiller that had water coming out and was spraying the garden hose water into my chilled wort. Maybe for 30 seconds? It was at 70 degrees. I hope it doesn't get infected!

    Gifted 20+ pounds of hops from neighbor I don't know

    I was brewing in my front yard today and a neighbor came over and gave me a bunch of hops because he's moving. Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe, Amarillo etc. He also gave me a stir plate and 5 mature hop plants in 20 gallon containers, ready to harvest. I love my neighborhood in Portland!
