commercial keg question co2 vs nitrogen

Looking for help with a commercial keg question. My little brother is building a kegerator for commercial kegs and has a nitrogen set up which was obviously based on guinness. He went to order his first keg and had a hick up with the distributor, he wanted draught, they got him extra stout...

    Amana 18 question

I'm trying to do something a lil more involved, the original poster just needed a hole for a o2 line so sticking to the edge is a solution. I want to put 3 taps through the center of the side. Any more info on the corn starch alcohol solution method? I think I get the gist of it bit additional...

Just so I'm getting this right, mix corn starch and rubbing alcohol, paint it on the side of the fridge, let it dry, then turn the fridge on high?

help with amana fridge coil design

I'm hoping someone in the community has the answer I'm looking for. Unfortunately, Google did not, just parts diagrams for the basic stuff. I have an older amana fridge, tz18rl, fridge I'm converting to my next kegerator since the last one died. I'd like to locate the taps of the side rather...

    Amana 18 question

Any one possibly have any input on the original post topic? I'd like to take a step further and run my taps through the side if I can avoid hitting any coils. Hoping someone has some design experience with amana fridge. Google only turns up parts diagrams, nothing about coil design/location

    temporary first year set up

I'll try and keep this short, I just moved from western ny to Virginia. I had to leave behind 2 year golding and mt hood hops, though my buddy should be digging them up soon. Question is, I just got cascade and Columbus rhizomes, but I'm currently at a rental while I transition to a permanent...

what can one plant with hops? (herbs/spices)

i planted two hop rhizomes last year (1 mt. hood, 1 golding) about 6 feet apart and had what i would say was great first year success (1.5 oz, 3.5 oz). so as spring is finally breaking here in buffalo, i wanted to build up my hop garden and possibly incorporate some herbs/spices with the hops...

    Oven drying?

this is the method (with fan) i used last year to dry the hops i picked, it's extremely simple and effective. you can set aside a small sample to weigh as the process proceeds, but i found you pretty much know when they've dried enough just by touch/feel.

    Unattended Hops

contrary to what you may read on here, hops will grow based on natural aka rain watering. depending on the seasons weather it may be too wet, just right, or too dry and thus affect overall output, but they'll still grow. case and point, a co-worker bought an old farm and found he had hops...

    storing pre-tap beer?

i thought i'd open up a discussion on storing beer i've made prior to putting it on tap. i started brewing again this fall mainly inspired by my new corny kegerator set up. i acquired and set up a 3 tap set up this fall and immediately put 2 beers on tap and that it was great, well because...

    Multiple taps with one regulator??

i'm currently running 3 taps on 1 regulator with a 3 way air distributor with individual shut offs. i have not yet had all three taps flowing so i can't say how well it works full bore yet. really the biggest and pretty much only downfall is the inability to set each keg to indiviual serving...

    head retention?

started brewing again and a couple of my beers have had great taste, fine carbonation, but are lacking a great head to them. pretty sure i remember reading once upon a time that there is something that can be added during the boil to increase head retention in the beer. i know grain...

    Travelling with cornies

i wouldn't worry about much, i just traveled from buffalo, ny to ocean city, md (~500 miles) with a corny of home brew and everything was absolutely fine. your 25km in a car with far softer suspension then mine wont do nearly as much to the keg as what i did, unless of course you plan on off...

    hops picking: noob needs advice

picked 'em on saturday, 3.5 hours in the rain, tons of fun. they're all set up on a door screen, have been since saturday night with the fan blowing on them. went and picked up a vacum sealer last night, probably will be bagging 'em by 1.5 and 3 oz sizes so based on the pictures below, i'll...

    hops picking: noob needs advice

steps 1 & 3 i can do, but as far as a dessicant chamber, i completely understand what you mean, however, since this is not a normal practice (hops picking) i don't have anything set up. can you recommend a simple, homemade set up for a chamber. i haven't purchased new shoes recently so i don't...
