    Carboy Blowout!

    The only blow out I ever had was when I did a primary in glass? It was a 6 gallon glass carboy, not the usual 6.5 plastic.

    I have only added fruit like orange and lemon peel in the last 15 min of brew, but I have only added hops to the primary 3 days into fermentation

    Whats your favorite Summer Session Beer kit ?

    I brewed a Brewers Best Kolsch but slightly altered it by peeling off 2 blood oranges and added then to the boil in the last 10-15 min of boil. Turned out well, Salud!

    When to add Irish Moss

    My Irish Moss bottle says to add 1 tsp in the last 15 min of brew. However,, my recipe calls for adding the aroma hops for 5 min, then terminate boil. I'm concerned the Irish Moss will effect the aroma hops. Any suggestions are appreciated. . .

    I fully agree. I do not use secondary fermentation, only primary. In order to get a clearer beer I do the following: 1) longer boil to further breakdown proteins, 2) Irish Moss in the last 15 min to attach to particles, 3) pour through a strainer sitting atop cheesecloth sitting atop a big...
