    IMO southern cross is an underated hop in the recipe. About a year ago Alpine was doing variations of Nelson recipe. Keeping the Southern Cross but subbing out Nelson, with Galaxy , Green Bullet.     ive brewed an Alpine clone, twice with rye malt( the kind that looks like sunflower seed kernels), both times have gotten a beer that is pretty damn close to the original if not better! ~ 20% of the grain bill

    I yielded about 9.5 gal. But my fermenter only can fit 8.5gal, I did an experiment with remaining 1 gal , if that makes sense now.

    excuse the lamp, but color was pretty damn close to original nelson, a slight more haze, but negligible , the ~20% rye grain bill will contribute to the cloudiness
