    Keezer rant

The keezer cycles every 15 minutes. And it is a TC-9102C http://www.controlproductsonline.com/documents/TC-9102%20Manual%2042420054A.pdf There is also no collar nor other insulation other than what came with the keezer. I have delayed building a collar due to indecision on making a collar or...

    Keezer rant

Hey y'all, I am now on my second used chest freezer that I attached a temp controller to. The first worked great for about 6 months and then would only keep the temp around 55*F. I checked all the settings on the temp controller and they were all where I wanted them to be. I asked on here and...

    Keezer issues

Hey y'all, I bought an old chest freezer off of craigslist. It is approximately 20 years old (per seller) and rigged it up with a Johnson A419 temperature controller. I purchased this last fall and it has been working great until this past month. The temperature keeps reading in the mid to...

    What's your story?

Walking around Bed Bath and Beyond with my wife around Christmas time 1.5 years ago, saw a Mr. Beer kit and jokingly told her she could get that for me. (Me not knowing there was more to homebrewing, sheltered life I know) Come Christmas time, opened a big box with a brewers best beginners kit...

    Stockpiled ingredients

Hey y'all. As I dive deeper, into this wonderful hobby of brewing, I am left with the idea that the time for a brew day can present itself at the last minute. My lhbs is part time and therefore is not open 7 days a week. With that being said, I was wondering what ingredients y'all keep on...

DIY Wort Chiller For Hot Weather

@Justdrumin I've done this, it works rather well in Texas, but I think next time I will also incorporate the rock salt idea too. Might make the ice last longer.

    Equipment for a Beginner?

I brew outside with a turkey fryer that was acquired from academy, it is a propane burner. Also I would suggest asap to get a bigger kettle, if you enjoy the hobby, it will be so much easier in the long run. Also, an immersion coil will cool your wort rapidly which may help with preventing...

    flushing keg with co2

This may not be the correct way of doing it...but. I siphon my beer into the keg, attach the lid, open the CO2, turn off CO2, open pressure release on keg, and repeat the process 3-4 times. My beers have never tasted like they have been skunky or any cardboard flavor. Hope this helps. Good...
