    WLP644 -Brett B Trois

This thread gives me some things to think about. I have a starter going right now and plan on making some sort of IPA with it :)

    Jai Alai Cedar Aged IPA

Gonna try this recipe today with the Cali ale yeast starter since that is what I have at the moment and if it's any good, I will use the correct yeast next time :)

    BrewHardware Giveaway!

    Sounds good to me :)

    American IPA Two Hearted Clone

I think I might give this one a try. I have been doing a 60 minute boil with different hop additions and it seems too bitter.

    How to mix priming sugar??

I will also put a +1 on not stirring. I just siphon it with the priming sugar and I might even move the tube around in the bucket a bit for the hell of it and it has worked perfectly fine for me ;) I have pondered stirring it a bit but that just introduces another piece of equipment that could...

    How to mix priming sugar??

Shouldn't be a big deal. You might wanna toss one in the fridge 2 weeks in or so and see how the carbonation is though :)

    How to mix priming sugar??

I second this! The 5oz. packs are a major problem because you usually don't end up with 5 gallons in the bottling bucket and even if you do, it might be more than the style calls for. I learned my lesson after a few batches because it sucks to end up with half a glass of head ;)

    Cool Brewing Giveaway!

That could be very useful :) Count me in!

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

I wouldn't worry about it. I used a little more water in the boil for a couple of batches and the top off water didn't cool it enough and they ended up fine. No need to dump a perfectly good batch ;)

    Florida hops growing ( a log )

Sounds good :) I ordered two Centennial rhizomes as well because I will probably use those more than the others anyways...

    Florida hops growing ( a log )

I am seeing some decent activity from the Williamette now and the Cascade is growing about an inch per day :)

    Florida hops growing ( a log )

Glad to see that I am not the only one that is not seeing any activity from my Williamette. I just planted it along with the cascade on the 20th and I am seeing sprouts almost exactly like yours from the cascade :)

Can primary fermentation be done already?

No worries :) I totally forgot to take an OG reading as well no my first batch and even my second lol. I did remember to take it on the last batch though which should help...

    When to dry hop?

Interesting. I might wait longer than a week next time then. My current one is still bubbling every few minutes in the secondary at the moment.

    When to dry hop?

I dry hop mine after 1 week in the primary but I am fairly new to brewing and I am sure that everyone has their own way. I rack mine into the secondary fermenter to filter it but there are some people that don't use a secondary. That again is personal preference I suppose and would depend on how...

First Post on the Forum and 60 Min Clone Recipe

Looks good to me. I didn't use any DME but my recipe was quite similar. The only other things that I did differently were adding the whole ounce of amarillo at the beginning and then I mixed 1 ounce of simcoe and warrior together and tossed random bits in here and there during the boil. Oh, and...

    HBC 342 Experimental Hops

Just ordered some of these and I think that I will probably use them alone in a smaller batch to see how they taste. I only ordered 3 oz. which was not the smartest thing I suppose :o

    New Florida brewer

Indeed it is. Luckily my favorite beer is IPA and the room that I ferment in stays at 72 degrees :rockin: I tried one from my first batch today and it was amazing after only a little over a week in the bottle so I can't wait to try it in a few more weeks!
