Beer in CO2 Line up to Regulator Shutoff/Check Valve: Cleaning Tips

I took off the shutoff/check valve of the regulator and soaked it. I played a little with it and it seems there is no way liquid could go past the check valve. In other words if the shutoff valve is in the open position and you pour liquid into the output port, there is no way it will appear...

Beer in CO2 Line up to Regulator Shutoff/Check Valve: Cleaning Tips

So I hooked up to the CO2 post of an over-full keg, and got beer in the CO2 Line up to the regulator combination Shutoff/Check Valve. There is no beer in the regulator, but I figure at this point that I will replace the lines and need to clean the Shutoff/Check Valve. It is easy enough to...

is it too late to add water??

I would boil it first. I'm not sure if you want to add oxygen at this point.

why do friends think homebrew is FREE?

Whenever I go over someone's house, I bring something whether it's food, homebrew, etc... It just feels like the right thing to do when someone invites you over their house. Anyways don't serve the good stuff. I usually save that stuff for special occasions or for when I drink with people I...

    Wings Win!!!!

Whoa... I have not watched enough Vancouver games lately to comment on their style of play. Just saying that without Bertuzzi and Miller (both concussions), the Wings would be hampered. The Mule is still not up to his old form to make the difference. Teams get the piss taken out of them...

    Wings Win!!!!

+2 Deliberate attempts at taking down a player are not cool. Finish your check by all means. Flat out attacking a player should be a 4 minute penalty.

    Wings Win!!!!

Reminds me of Calgary's cup run from a couple of years a go. Jesus. They were sacrificing their own players to get ahead. It was bloody. They played with a lot of heart, but they were thugs all the way through. I'm wondering what the Wings are going to look like next year especially if...

    Wings Win!!!!

:rockin: Yeah I forgot that phrase. Obviously the Wings have made the playoffs many more times than that. Heh.

    Wings Win!!!!

Awww... I love the jealousy! 20 years making the playoffs. Us Wing fans should be proud. The team played well. Wish we had a little more jump in the beginning of the series. The injuries were starting to hurt us so maybe it is for the best. Who knows how well we would fare with a healthy...

    Oxygenation Poll

Oxygenation is pretty important step. If you are going to shake. Shake a lot. I would say pour back and forth 10-20 times. This is obviously hellish on the back. I've had good luck with siphoning my wort and employing a venturi tube. The only drawback is that it can take quite awhile to...

Leaky Liquid Keg Post = Ruined Batch?

Update: I just put this keg on the gas. It tastes good so it looks like I'm in the clear. Thanks Nuggethead for the advice.

Drop Them Panties Again - Sweet Sparkling Cider

I just bottled a variation of your recipe and it was very good. Lots of apple flavor, with a touch of sweetness, and the limeade definitely brings out more of a cider element. The alcohol was probably about 6%. I couldn't taste it, but I definitely felt it. In my opinion it was almost...

Leaky Liquid Keg Post = Ruined Batch?

I naturally carb up my kegs and I had keg sitting in the basement, which I planned on putting in the kegerator around March. I came home from a week long vacation to find that beer was leaking out the liquid post. Apparently I did not tighten the post enough. There was only a little CO2 left...

    Keezer project started *pics*

Rope caulk and just the weight of the collar works for me. I did not feel comfortable using liquid nails or silicone caulk.

Go big or go home? well, I'm a "home"brewer...

I started out big and now most of my beers are ~4.5-5%. There's a lot to be said about a good Mild or Scottish Ale.

    glass carboy or better bottle?

Glass is great until it breaks. I got lucky, some people here didn't. I always use a blowoff with my better bottle (1/2" tubing rigged to the airlock.) No more suckback!
