    Testing New RIMS

8 minutes seems pretty fast vs my 35, but that's a pretty big element. Is it a 120 or 240? Maybe I should get a bigger element. Do you vourloff before recirc, or do you even have issues with grain clogging the pump? Add rice hulls? If so, how much?

    Testing New RIMS

Just finished building my new RIMS tube. I used 2" dia stainless, with a 6" nipple between the Tees. The element is a 120v,low density 1500 watt. Had some trouble finding an element that fit the NPT threads on the stainless. But in the end, a few wraps of teflon tape did the trick. So the...

Autosparge hole location on Keggle MT

So far, I'm looking to drill my A.S. hole about 2" down from where the keg roof starts to curve. I hope this is far down enough to reach lower gravity mash scenarios. Schristian, did your valve open and close when you moved the float up and down manually?

    Heater Element Thread Type

Yes, there is a variation, and the only way to be sure of a good fit is to try them out before purchasing.

Autosparge hole location on Keggle MT

I'm putting together a Mash Tun from a Bud type keg, and wondering where the best location to drill the hole for my Blichman Autosparge. The autosparge is adjustable for various grain bed heights, but there are limits(upper and lower) that it can reach. I only do 10 gal batches, and plan to...

    Heater Element Thread Type

I'm building a RIMS tube with a 1" heater element. My stainless end cap has a 1" NPT thread, but heater elements have "Straight Pipe Threads" I brought my end cap to a couple of big box stores and a plumbing distributor store, and tried to fit their elements in my end cap. I could never get more...
