    Thats the formula I used and thought I was making a miscalculation; I get 1.054). My recipe had 9 lbs liquid malt extract and 2 lbs of sugar for a 5 gallon batch so it seems way low.     I just finished brewing a belgian strong golden ale, and when I took a sample for the gravity I pored it out after I aerated it and didn't get enough for the gravity reading.     Biscuit Malt

    How much base malt should be used when doing a partial mash with biscuit malt? I recently did a partial mash with 3 lbs biscuit and 1 lb lager malt and the OG seemed to come out alright; (i mashed at 150 for 80 minutes) but in the future was thinking I probably should have used more base malt.
