    Yeh I have tested it an it's fine I think my temps have been wrong so it will just work slower won't it? Hopefully will still work just slower than normal

    Ok so would your advice be try and get it 64-68f and try keep it like that see how it turns out? Or is it too late to fix? Or will it maybe just sort itself?

    Arch1tect yes that's about top and bottem of it that's what it said to do on the instructions grr stupid beer kit this is my second I dumped my first before I found this site and the last 1 was un-drinkable aswell :(

    Ok sounds good I might look into gettin a temp controller so do you think my beer will be ruined or should I just leave it doing the temp swings and see what happens after another week?

    It was just the yeast packet that came with the coppers English bitter pack and I didn't measure temp when I pitched :s hope it's not ruined and yeh hopefully it's still fermenting :) fingers crossed

    Yeh from start to finish here we go sanitised everything put can of malt extract in boiling water to eat up boiled 1.5 gallon water in separate pan poured malt extract in ferment bucket then pour the 1.5g in mix it up then added 500g of light malt extract and 500g of brewing sugar stirred well...

    The temperature has been up and down as I don't have a heater between 58f and 68f will this effect it or will it just take longer?

    Ok so basically you get the yeast working before you add it in a separate tub you add hot water the yeast then cool it down quickly that gets the yeast started then after 12 hours use that as you would a normal packet of yeast

    Great I was reading and thought lager would be the best bet I use extract kits (the can) as I am just starting out if I was to buy a lager extract kit which makes 5 gallons before I add the yeast could I split the wort in half and do 2, 2.5 gallon tubs as I want to do lager but only have 2.5...
