    Conditioning/Carbonating in ManCan 128

SO I'm curious how this turned out. My guess is you either ended up with bottle bombs or the beer turned out sweet or cidery. Also curious if you've tried carbing in your mancan. I just got 3 of them for a song and I wanna try them out. Na Zdrowie!

    moscato wine?

I get the Wine Expert World Vineyard Moscato kit. The wife and I love it. I would put it a little better than Barefoot. Though I would recommend: if you can get the Pink Moscato kit, get that. It's better!

Where are you as far as temperature? What yeast?

You should start worrying approximately NEVER. Relax and let the yeast do it's thing! You're making beer!

I have not and after consulting friends who know a LOT more than I do, I beg your forgiveness sir. I am/was ignorant of the S-04 monster! :mug:

Up to 72 hours is definitely not unheard of. And there is no way you have had fermentation complete in 72 hours. Impossible unless you started with 1.01 wort. You may have had gotten krausen fall within 72 but primary fermentation takes at *least* a week. No off flavors will result, biggest...

Lowering the temps will slow down fermentation. But as long as you're in the recommended range of the yeast you're fine. Relax!

The cardboard taste comes from oxygenation after fermentation. Usually during bottling. 65-68 really isn't that low but as long as you're storing at 59, you should be fine. Nope, no other risks. You're fine. relax! Really you generally want to be nice and cool. What yeast did you use?

Unless you're adding things like fruit there really is no reason to move to secondary. All you're doing is adding a risk of contamination and/or oxidation. Just let 'er sit!

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Hello Twy and welcome to the addiction of homebrewing! Just one thing before I get to your questions, a blowoff tube should not be going down into your fermenter at all. A 3 piece airlock should be used. The base is the perfect size to attach your blowoff tubing. On to your questions...

Glass Big Mouth Bubbler, a no nonsense review

I just took a look at Midwest's site and they have PLASTIC BMB's in stock. $28 for 5 gallon and $30 for 6.5 gallon!

Ahhh swimming at the rec center. Them's is some good memories! It's gone fairly downhill. The fairgrounds are all but dead except during fair season. Southwyck area is a ghost town now.

I've never been there. Of course I'm rarely on that side of town. For me it's either Anderson's in Maumee or Cork's in Perrysburg/Rossford.

+1 on leaving the soda out. Something in there might inhibit yeast activity/growth. Just have some limes handy on serving day or get a small bottle of good lime juice.

It's not the threads on the lid that matter. There are little notches on the threaded part of the LBK that do it. They sort of act like a check valve. I don't think you can do what you want to do. It'd be better to just buy another LBK if you're going to do that. They're cheap enough.

We're on Indian Wood Circle. I assume you know where the Humane Society is, you go down the road that's basically across the street and we're the 2nd drive on the left. Our building used to be IBM back in the day. 1605 Indian Wood Cir. In fact we made the news too...

Sure we do. Anderson's is based in Maumee. I now work less than 5 minutes from the main store. Yes they stock an ass load of craft brews. I just wish they would carry ingredients! They have Beer Machines around Fathers Day and Christmas and they carry Mr Beer stuff year round but that's about...
