Source for NG burners in Canada?

I checked a local water heater company, and got a few for a friend. He is handy enough, he could pull them out and connect them back up himself. Sure didn't break the bank though, they were only $5.00 each, but they were still in the water tanks.

    Crankandstein, here I come!

I got 3D a few months ago, and it has been great. I had to muddle through switching the post side, as my motor was turning the post the wrong way, and grain was flying out. I also had to cut two sections of SS sheet about 3 x 6 to cover the 2 openings, so the grains didn't fly out. Good...

Fermenter Idea - Fluid dynamicist needed

Not a fluid dynamicist, but I have designed a number of waste water treatment units, that work. I agree that that vertical wall will be what channels the liquid, and the trub above the original outlet line will remain in place. I would also be concerned that the oval shaped piece of...

Soon Canada Will Be Overflowing With Better Bottles

Hooray! I can get rid of my carboys, and not spend a fortune. Oh, and not disrupt my hormonal systems (allegedly).

If only this truck was coming to my house...

Nice gear. What is an annual brewing limit? Are you only allowed to brew a set amount in the States?

    Pressure relief on import kegs

I love it! I think I am going to go with the drill a few holes before I plasma idea. I have to take them to work to plasma them though, so it might be pretty funky in my car by the end of the day when I can cut them..... They are mostly Guinness, but there is one half full of cider that I...

    Pressure relief on import kegs

I came across some import kegs, and I was able to figure out how to relieve the pressure on most of them, but I have 4 left that I can't sort out. I was hoping someone had seen these before, and could offer some advice. I don't want a face full of bad beer or cider when I take the plasma gun...

    Name Your Keg Hand-Me-Down?

I have 2 that are unmarked, plus one from Brewers Retail. I also have a handful of Guinness and other imports that I am converting for the guys I brew with. I would like to get 2 more unmarked, and then get rid of the marked.

    My C&S 3D rocked - for 5 mins

My 3D is in the way. I am brewing again Feb 2, so I hope it gets here in time...

    SCORE! 13gallon fermenters!

Anecdotal evidence time; I have used these large carboys in lab, and in semi-industrial settings in the past, as I deal with waste water treatment. I have seen a number of them break, but never just because they were full. A few of the chemicals that I have received in these, mainly polymer...

    Copper has a max temp?

Temp ratings on closed systems usually go hand in hand with a pressure rating. That temp rating is likely the highest recommended temp at max system pressure.

    weld flux

Could one of you fine folks let me know what you are charged Stateside? I was quoted $120CDN for a 1 Lb can.

Same Wort Two Different Yeasts, Two Different Beers

I am brewing Feb 3rd with a friend from work. We are going to do 3 10 gallon batches, and split each. It will be nice to end up with 6 different beers. I like the sound of doing this for all of my brew days, but I will have to wait and see how this one turns out.

    New wort chiller (Score)

My bad, I didn't do a very good job of explaining what I meant. I assumed that either you would remove the copper from that, or that you added copper. I figured it to be too long if it was left. Ignore all of the above, and below if you are leaving it on. By flat I mean if you are looking...

    New wort chiller (Score)

No problem, just keep in mind that is is titanium when getting the compression fittings. I would get some high heat paint, and cover an inch or so at the end of the tubing. Mask off the flat section of the tubing so that the paint isn't going to be in contact with the wort. This will prevent...

    New wort chiller (Score)

That is beautiful, but it isn't stainless steel, it is titanium. ASTM B338 is the spec for titanium heat exchanger tubing. I am with jds on the lettering, I doubt it will come off with the processes you can do at home.

Incredibly lucky food and beer pairing

So he called a quad a stout, big deal... Sounds like it was great night, I wish the LCBO would step up and do something similar.

    Star Bar

I use triangular stirrers at work, in waste water that isn't that much less viscous than yeast. They seem to work well, but, I am not trying to grow anything. I will try them out at the end of the month with a starter and report back. (pre-treatment waste water of course, not what goes to sewer.)

    Microscope?

Hmmm, I might have to bring my monocle shop scope home just to take a peek at things next brew day. I don't expect to take action based on what I see, but it might make for some good pictures.
