    Breckenridge beer stores?

If you're flying into DIA, you'll be passing by Applejack liquors in Wheat Ridge (suburb of Denver) on your way to Breckenridge. It's a huge store with a great selection. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Room for small winery w/ Microbrewery attitude?

Haha. I hear what you're saying about mixing wine and liquor. We've got some test white wines going with various dry hopping varieties and amounts. So far the results are encouraging. Buy a cheap bottle and dump a few pellets in, wait a week and see what you think.

Room for small winery w/ Microbrewery attitude?

Funny that you mention that. We're looking at options for a nano system. We'd most likely be looking for a 3 BBL system or less. We own a small warehouse/big garage that could house the winery and brewery and a tasting room. Our only issue might be the legality. We're looking into all...

Room for small winery w/ Microbrewery attitude?

Hello all, I hope I've posted this in the right place. It didn't seem to fit any one forum perfectly. Looking for feedback from beer and wine people alike. My family owns and operates a small vineyard in Colorado. Traditionally, we've sold grapes at the end of the season as part of a...

    One Entrepreneur Wanted.

As a 25 year old, I just want to say that I'm ashamed to be associated with someone like this just because he has repeatedly touted his age throughout this thread. I promise there are plenty of hardworking people in my generation who do not have this kind of entitled attitude and who are eager...

    Homebrewing Truths

You will occasionally buy a bomber of beer specifically for the coolness of the bottle and the prospect of bottling your own beer in it. In fact, many of your beer purchases will revolve around ease of label removal and lack of twist off caps.

    New belgiums new beer.

I've bought 3 six packs already. I love it. Might Arrow (last spring seasonal from NB) was good, but this beer kills it. Look at the hop line up online. It's awesome. Can't wait to try a clone!

    Best Movie Ever Made

Frank: Anything? Well, uh I guess I, deep down, am feeling a little confused. I mean, suddenly, you get married, and you're supposed to be this entirely different guy. I don't feel different. I mean, take yesterday for example. We were out at the Olive Garden for dinner, which was lovely. And...

    this is mind-boggling...

Can't hate on someone for embracing a hobby, I guess. But, to have the time and money to support a hobby like this... Can't help but to think I could put it to better use. Think I could get this guy to build be some r/c bottling equipment?

Help me pick what equipment to buy next

Wort chiller. You will want this. Full boils improved my beers a lot, and a wort chiller will be next to necessary when you do full boils. That said, it will also be a huge help if you make the jump to all grain.

Have you ever been over critical of your own brew?

I've found that the older my beers are, the less critical I am. Yes, it's possible that they improve in bottle. But, I think the main reason is that over time I forget about the small mistakes I made during brewing and stop trying to taste my mistakes. Somewhere about two to three months from...

    High Altitude Hops

I'd love to be able to be up there every day and water the hops, but unfortunately we would have to set up an automatic irrigation system. I'm not too worried about this aspect. We have a ton of options regarding this. Thank you sweetcell for the reccomendation on the table and the Canadian...

    High Altitude Hops

I searched the forum pretty thoroughly before posting this, so hopefully I’m not re-hashing anything that’s already been covered. All this wet snow in Colorado has me thinking about Spring and growing hops! I came across a bunch of threads about growing hops in Colorado, but everything I saw...

    Chipped Porcelain, Mad SWMBO!!

Bad night for my homebrew future! Tonight I moved a beer from primary to secondary. There were 10 lbs of tart cherries in the primary per the recipe, and I wanted to get the beer off of them so it didn't get too sour. First, i had to clean my glass secondary. I use my guest bath tub as a...

Beer Disagreement between Denver & Boston Mayors

Well, I didn't think The Broncos had any shot at beating the Steelers either. Tebow and the Broncos have already outperformed all expectations for this season. As a Denver native and life long Broncos fan, the season has already been a pleasant surprise. I think the Broncos are going to...

Beer Disagreement between Denver & Boston Mayors

"Should New England lose, Menino promised Hancock a lobster dinner and to clothe his city's famed statue of Paul Revere in Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow's jersey. For his part, Hancock promised Menino a steak dinner and to wear a Patriots jersey to a public event." I like Steak but I'm...

Cherries in the Snow - Partial Mash Help

I searched the forums and didn't come up with anything along these lines, so hopefully I'm not duplicating anything. I'm looking for help converting Charlie Papazian's "Cherries in the Snow" recipe from The New Complete Joy of Homebrewing from an all extract to a partial mash recipe. Here's...

What's your occupation: Engineer or Non-Engineer

Print sales, enrolling in an MBA program... Feeling a bit out of place here:) I've had plenty of discussions with people who argue the merits of brewing as an art vs. brewing as a science. Frankly, the only difference as far as I can tell is that those of us who brew as an art have a hard...
