    Adding candi sugar to fermenter?

My next brew is going to be a Belgian Dubbel, which calls for 1 lb of candi sugar to be added to the fermenter after 1 day. How exactly is this done? I'm guessing you don't just dump the hard candi sugar in

    Lager Starter Temp?

Well I see I started a healthy debate on this thread

    Lager Starter Temp?

Is it just pitching at a higher temp that can give off flavors?

    Lager Starter Temp?

So do you crash your starter prior to pitching or just keep your starter <50 deg the entire time?

    Lager Starter Temp?

Thanks for the info, I've seen a couple different things about pitching at around 45F then letting it come up to temp. Seems like fermentation would take a lot longer to get started doing it this way tho. I'm gonna go with pitching @ 65, then slowly bringing it down to 50F

    Lager Starter Temp?

I'm doing my first lager this weekend and had a question on what temp my starter should be prior to pitching? And if it is a cooler temp, keep it on the stir plate at the lower temp or just lower it prior to pitching?

WTB: Bayou burner and cooler MLT

Seeing if anyone has a decently priced burner, i.e. SP1, SP10, or SQ14. Also interested in 10 gal cooler MLT. Located in Norfolk, VA but will deinitely pay shipping if reasonable. Also travel to NJ often so could possibly work something out. Thanks for any help.

Hair of the Dog - Stuck Fermentation

I'm having the exact same problem myself right now. Brewed a blonde ale with OG of 1.044, made a starter and was bubbling away but my gravity reading today with my refrac was 1.018 when I was expecting less than 1.010. Definitely gonna take another reading with my hygrometer now

Anybody know a good place to fill a CO2 tank in Virginia Beach VA area?

+1 for Fire Services, cost $13 to fill my 5lb tank. My buddy got his filled at Airgas the other day and was charged $34 and they only pressed his tank up to 300#. What a joke

    am i in trouble ?

I think you have to be around 160-165°F to kill bacteria, so that's the only concern. Doesn't sound like too much got in tho. I wouldn't worry, it'll probably turn out awesome....never to be duplicated
