Did you bypass the OEM thermostat or just use the Johnson controller connected to the power cord

Could this fridge with the Johnson Controller easily and consistently hold around 60?

I hate to start such an old thread back up, but was this issue ever resolved? I just received one of these for free and have a johnson controller. Will the johnson controller be good enough to regulate the temperature or do I need to manually mess with the thermostat?
