Please don't tell me I have a problem...

I don't think this is a co2 issue. A film a formed on the top, with a little shake of the carboy something starting falling. Also "bubbles" on the side of the glass.

Please don't tell me I have a problem...

So this is happening to my beer. It's a coopers lager. And has just started to show some strange dots on top of the Brew. It's in secondary fermentation and has been there for just less than 2weeks at 24c

    Massive head

They are all in Grolsch style bottles. What if I was to pop the top and then reseal letting some pressure out? And drink days/weeks later

    Massive head

What does that mean exactly? Too much sugar? I added exactly what I was given. Anyway to fix? Crack the bottle 30mins before I wanna drink?

    Massive head

    Perume in my bottles.

Just found this link. http://www.ehow.com/how_6585878_perfume-smell-out-bottle.html What do u think?

    Perume in my bottles.

What about a Dishwashing detergent of some sort. I understand that too leaves an odor, but is it the lesser of 2 evils.

    Perume in my bottles.

I'm too stubborn to trash a gold mine of 72 Grolsch bottles. Cost me $40 so I guess it's not a Massive loss. Yeah I'll keep soaking them. I'm not to worried about putting in some hard work to clean em up

    Perume in my bottles.

So I just bought 6 dozen grolsch style bottles on our local classifieds site Kijiji. They guy said he hasn't made beer in 20 years but the bottles are good. Maybe replace some of the little orange gaskets. No big deal. Get them home and start cleaning them out and an aroma starts to fill the...

    Whats going on here?

I still have broken up hops floating right at top on day 4. Any ideas on how you filter them?

    Whats going on here?

Yeah I don't think it does either. But that's what's on the box. It's a local LME kit. As in it comes in a 4 liter bladder and I just add water hops and yeast.

    Whats going on here?

I had it in primary for 8 days. But had some issues when racking it. Accidentally stirred up some trub. Also still had hops floating on the top when I started and a lot of that made it into secondary. Do you think I could rack it again and then let it sit another week? There is already tons of...

    What is this?

Thanks everyone. I love that I have 3 different ideas as to what it is. At least I have a base to start googling

    Whats going on here?

2 nights ago I racked my pale ale into a secondary and now it seems to have started to separate. The lower brown looks like beer and the top darker color looks more clear like water. It had dry hops added in the beginning. Is this normal? Thanks!!

    What is this?

Hey all. I recently picked up a bunch of equipment 2nd hand and this was in the stuff. Have no idea what it is. It looks like a hydrometer or thermometer, but counts to 3. Anyone?
  18. J

    Hydrometer readings.

Thank you so much everyone. I shall do the distilled water trick and see what Is what.

    Hydrometer misreading

That is a very clever idea. Thanks. Now is distilled water previously boiled water, or like water that has gone through a brita filter?

    Hydrometer misreading

Hey all. Recently picked up a bunch of 2nd hand equipment that came with 2 glass hydrometers and a thief. This on top of the plastic one I already have from the coppers DIY kit. So I went to take a reading today ad thought I would if they were all the same, the are not. One is showing 1.005...
