    First Recipe from Scratch

    40 Minute Boil?

    I'm making a super simple hefe kit from a LHBS and the recipe is simply: 5.5 lbs Wheat DME 1 oz Tettnang at 40 minutes Is there any reason I need to boil the DME for 60 minutes? I don't know of any reason I wouldn't just boil for 40. Thanks for the feedback.

    Old Hops

    OK - I was rummaging through my old Mr. Beer crap last night and happened upon an ounce of Cascade hops pellets. It's in a vacuum sealed bag and it's been in my cabinet for a year and change. Still worth dropping in a beer? I've put them in the freezer now, so hopefully it'll slow whatever...

    Commercial Kegerator - What Questions to Ask

    I've run across a kegerator on Craigslist that is $150 - I think it's probably a pretty good deal. What questions do I need to ask to make sure I can use it for my homebrew? Thanks!
