    Why do we cut the keggle like we do.

    It seams to me that it would be easier to clean, and to make the cut if I just cut the entire top off. I understand that I would lose the handles, but is there any other reason? (structural integrity?) Or is this just how it is done, because that is how it is done? Thanks Mike
