I am harvesting about 1500 acres of sorghum and was looking for good sorghum beer reciepe? I have read it is bitter tasting and most people go gluten free when brewing sorghum beer. I don't care about gluten free I just want a good solid tasting dipa or something along those lines.

I had a beer hydrometer but when I went to brew today it fell and broke:eek::smack: but I have a alchol meter for liqour, Can I read gravitys with a alchol meter, if so whats the conversion? I would go buy anew hydrometer but brew shop is 1 1/2 hour drive round trip.

I have been buying hoppy beers and some Russian stouts that the abv is anywhere from 11% to 14%.how do they get there abv that high?i usually gate 8% at most.

I brewed my beer og 1.045 and fg is 1.005 so thats about 5.25% is there any way I can rack it again and add boiled down sugar or honey to get to 7%? Will the yeast awaking to eat the sugar or maybe honey? Or is there another way?

I just took a gallon of brown nut ale and experimented with it.I put a Fresno chili in the boil instead of the hops.no hops only chilis and also added some honey. I boiled it for an hour, cooled it and then let some red star pateur red yeast dig in.Hope it's good

I crushed grapes,then put in fermentation and then I pressed them out at end of fermentation.So my question is I am on the first racking the wine is just aging or fermenting a little? Why do you rack agian in 3 to 4 weeks? Is it just to clear the wine?
