    It's ready!

Popped the top, nice hiss. Poured into glass. Good carb. Lot's of tiny little bubbles. It's a little darker then Fireman's #4. Just about to sit down and give it a try. This is my first batch i've made.

    First extract brew.

So, this is my first extract brew (Real Ale Fireman's #4). Got my kit from AHB. I know the instructions say after primary let it sit in secondary for 5-7 days to help clear. Now when I look at my carboy with a flashlight on the other side, I can def still see stuff suspended in the beer and...

    Cider, next question.

So I let my cider go a week in primary and racked off to secondary on tuesday. I'm getting little/no activity in my airlock and the taste leans towards the yeast side. I was thinking about adding some brown sugar into the mix to get the yeast going again. Any opinions on that?

I'm going to be getting some 6g Better Bottles on Monday to start with what I hope is another fun hobby. I'm also trying to find out what else I can use for fermentation vessels in a smaller size. I know I can get 3g carboys, but I was looking at going cheaper. I'm going to end up with quite...

    Howdy all.

Hi all. Ed from Austin here.. Never brewed before (i'm not a beer fan) and never made cider before, but I love to drink (whisky and scotch). Though always having to buy stuff like that gets $$$ after a bit and I decided to give a shot at making my own cider. Donno what else to say here, so...

    First time....

Looks like this weekend i'm gonna throw my hat in and try to make some hard cider. This will be the first time trying something like this (i've not even attempted to brew beer). I will be doing very simple but getting juice (no preservatives or anything) and yeast. I've not decided on if i'd...
