    Fast fermentation??

    I started a batch of IPA Dec 31... OG 1.060, had major foam blow out for 2 days.. then after 4 days it stopped completely..     Siphon & Sanitation Question

    Ok.. we scrub out everything.. sanitize it.. then.. suck on the end of the siphon tube and dump tons of bacteria in the secondary fermenter?? Seems like it defeats the purpose of all that cleaning?? I believe my next purchase is going to be an auto siphon.. Is this a valid concern?? Deb

    How to figure ABV when adding ingredients to during secondary fermetation

    Think this will work??

    I started a batch of cider today - in 3 gallons _ put.. 10 containers frozen concentrate - (preservative free) 1 packet (11.5 g) Safale US-56 - and water to make 3 gallons.. I plan to ferment for 7-10 days.. rack to secondary - then add 1-14 1/2 oz can tart cherries in water(pureed)...
