I am planning on bottling 5 gallons of vanilla porter tomorrow. I will be bottling half of it as is and then adding Makers Mark to the remaining half. I was thinking 2-3 ounces. Any advice? Is that too little an amount of whiskey?
I am currently extract brewing and wanting to step into the all grain world via BIAB. I'm wanting to make 5g batches. How big of a kettle will I need? Is an 8g kettle adequate? Or should I upgrade to 10g?
This may be a stupid question but since I'm a newb I'll ask it anyway. Is there any reason why I couldn't bottle by simply attaching a short tube to my spigot and using that to bottle? Why do I need a siphon or wand?
This is my first brew so I'm a little worried that my cream stout is reading 1.022 after 2 weeks. The target is 1.012-1.016. Should I be concerned? Can I bottle it like this?
I recently bought a cream stout kit that contains 1 lb of lactose however the recipe only calls for 8 Oz. Can I store the unused lactose for later use? Do I freeze it or just keep it airtight?
