    Is a flame regulator necessary?

I plan on doing my first BIAB. I do not have a propane/outdoor burner, but I have this faux fire place, and am thinking about building a stand around it. Question: Will it be okay if it does not have a flame adjustment valve? A lot of videos seem to use them, but could I not just add water in...

Did I add yeast too late?

Hello, I am making a Brew House Beer Kit (Pale Ale) - so no boiling extracts, just dump everything into a fermenter. I waited 8 hours to add my yeast as it took a while to get to the 23 C mark. Will this be a problem?

What is cheaper? Beer kits or extract brewing?

Because I found that at my LHBS it $7 for 1 kg of LME, and about the same for 500 G of DME. I need at east 2 of each for my recipe, and with hops and all that buying a easy beer kit seems so much cheaper. This seems as a surprise to me though! Is this really how it is?

Costs of DME and LME at my LHB

Hello, I visited my LHB today and they were selling 1 KG of pale malt extract (DME) for $7.00, and about the same for DME that was only 500 grams. What's the deal? I'm better off just buying a beer kit eh?

Hi, I am having difficulty finding the right ratio of water/iodopher. The instructions call for 1 ml of idopher per 1 litre. Is that too much? It doesn't say the ppm.

Oxi Clean to water ratio - Did my brewing book go overboard?

Hi, In "How to Brew" by John Palmer - he suggests using 1 table spoon per gallon of sodium percarbonate (Oxi Clean). Yet after doing a search here on the forum, it seems many of you use 1/8 of a scoop to 1 full scoop of Oxi Clean per 5 gallons. There appears to be no consensus. Should I...

Can my ceramic stove do a 3.5 gallon partial boil?

Hello, I am wondering if my glass stove will be able to boil 3.5 gallons (CAN) of water with DME in it? I have a 20 L canning pot (big black speckle thing) I bought for $25. I am going to be covering the pot with two layers of aluminum reflective foil. The stuff they use for...
