great idea now I have to get more homer buckets.

I bring some fresh water up to boil and run that through my system. Use a scotch brite pad for the tougher stuff (but the steam takes care of most). Then when I am finished I dry everything that is about it and all my stuff still looks new.

Partial is where is you are still using LME and DME with steeping grains (partial Mash). Some of the beer kits already have beginners making partial mash.

BIAB is all grain brewing it is just another method of all grain brewing. It is easy and cheap to get into so many beginners give it a try before building a mashtun or other multi vessel system.

Another question I have for you is how much water are you starting with? Just as reference with a 12 lb grain bill on my system I start with 8.5 gallons end with about 6 gallons.

I would also look into milling your own grain. When I finish milling its almost powder.

I am just curious but how did you come up with 60% ? Did you actually calculate 60 % after a couple of brewdays? or is that just a number you selected to formulate your recipes? 60 % is low for BIAB 5g batches (unless they are real high gravity). I have never been below 72% even on an 18 lb...

Not really it is fairly straight forward. There is another builder here that swapped the top and bottom shelves on the cart and turned the one on top upside down allowing for a flat top with no walls. Thought about doing that myself. Good luck and keep us posted. Gotta go pitch some yeast now!

I like that idea very cool. However instead of an internal chiller I would suggest a counter-flow gravity fed since you have the drop to your basement.
